[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
well, i think, today is a good day to paint another spot yellow on my TE map (smile). unfortunately, my post is just a harsh-light, early afternoon view on the living conditions of monaco's royal subjects taken from the palace garden right above the city.

what captured me though was the dark turquoise color of the water and the cacti-framed view on the city patterns and the yacht docks. plus, i felt happy i could relax in the shade on this incredibly hot july day.

regards,
kristaps

p.s. detailed information on the royal principality and the second smallest independent country in the world can be found on this wikipedia monaco page.

for other parts of monaco cityscape (also shot from the palace area) see these two fotos by avene: 1, 2.

Hi Kristaps, A very well composed photo with a great high POV, the two piers angling towards the corner looks superb, I like the cacti in both bottom corners & the city line across the top, very good light & a nice shot, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Kristaps,
Wonderful coastal landscape of all these grand yachts so neatly moored in the famous harbor.
Very sharp details and strong clear colors to this high view of the peaceful principality.

Regards, Tom

Hi Kristaps,

this is definitely far from any industrial area...perhaps a place where people take advantage from the profit of their business (industries?) :) Our world is full of controversies but my broken english is not enough to translate what I think about all that. It's hard to find the right answer or even harder to see where the truth is. As a friend's father always says: "yyeeeeaaahhhh, it's coooomplicated" :))
Very nice place, I don't think the harsh light was a problem here. The boats are well illuminated and that's a good focal point. They contrast nicely with the architectures...so that's a good feature. Great job, my friend!
Regards,
Carlos
