Obamaphant

A remarkable elephant in the Amsterdam Elephant Parade 2009 is this homage to Barack Obama, the in Europe very popular president of the United States. The statue is to be found in a long row of artistic elephants on the Museum Plein (Museum Square) in Amsterdam.

In the background between the autumn-leaves you can see the Rijksmuseum.

Next year the herd of elephants will cross the North sea to London. The Evening Standard wrote that this will be the largest open-air exhibition in that city.

Dag Rob,
dit is wel een grappige. Ik heb me tot nu toe vooral verbaasd over de hoeveelheid gekleurde olifanten in de stad. Ze staan werkelijk overal.

Very funny caricature of Obama. It looks like an excellent exhibition. The central composition with the perspective view through the avenue of trees in the background works well. Autumn colours already in Amsterdam!

Hi Rob,

Really funny Obama elephant. When you see you feel for seeing more of this. Perhaps not the best weather but you capture of it is superb. The sharpness is perfect and I really like the blurred background that makes the sculpture stand out. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Dag, Rob. Je hebt de olifant mooi op de voorgrond geplaatst. We kunnen er alle details van zien en hij geeft een goede diepte aan het beeld. De rijen bomen creëren een goed perspectief dat naar de achtergrond leidt.

Hehe! this one is quite funny ;) This exhibition seems to be very interesting to have a look at! I think B.O is more popular in Europe then in its own country!
The row of trees makes for a good BG on which the 'Obamaphant' stands out perfectly in a good sharpness.
