Shop Window Reflection – De Bijenkorf – Dam Square - Amsterdam

De Bijenkorf (literally, "The Beehive") is a chain of upscale department stores in the Netherlands with its flagship store on Dam Square, Amsterdam. Founded in 1870 as a small store along the Nieuwendijk, one of Amsterdam's oldest streets, it offers many prestigious brands in clothing, accessories, beauty, food, and home. De Bijenkorf has 12 stores nationwide. The oldest and largest branches, situated in Amsterdam.

In the window-reflection you can see the facades of the buildings of the Damrak.

I like very much the two dimensions of the image with the model in the department window as the subject and the lovely reflections of the architecture. The light, color, and clarity are fabulous. Both the photo and the note are excellent.

Style of 1970-s?
You created an amazing interplay between the square patterns of the facade and the backround of the vitrine.
The umbrella is perfecly placed to embrace three windows.
The mannequin adds spice to the whole compo with its curvy lines and square patterned tights.
All in all, it's a lively, dynamic picture with a touch of surrealism.

I immediately thought of this image I critiqued yesterday. A good ancient v modern comparison. You have a great eye for images like this and there is a wonderful combination of reflection and looking through with even matching colours. Very striking!

Hi Rob,
Heel mooi hoe de spiegelingen van het Damrak overlopen in de geruite achtergrond van de etalage. De modepop staat er mooi voor, alsof ze zo op d'r fiets wil springen. De paraplu is nog een ander mooi detail.

A very creative indoor-outdoor multi-dimentional shot. The shop-window designer was imaginative in the way the window was put together, the photographer followed suite with the perfect light management.

you have a master power of capturing reflection. Here the buildings reflected in the glass covered a model. Nice mixture of types two images. Great colours and sharpness. Light is perfectly managed. Very very well done.

I love the strong colours and nice mix of reflections and background decoration in the shop window. Funny that the colour of the bike is matching the pattern of the stockings and the decoration. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Excellent title for this new variation of the reflections' theme. Yes, the reflections of the house's windows...in the shop window could the compared to the small cells in a honeycomb. And a very colorfull picture too.
