Photographer's Note

Yep, I was very pleasantly surprised by the snow in the Netherlands in the past days as well. It gave me a little bit of satisfaction after a couple of very dull winter months (no ice, no snow, just rain and grey skies). This morning I decided to leave my home a little earlier than normal, because I wanted to enjoy the white world before I had to go to work.

This picture was made at the Delft railway station. The Dutch are famous because of the huge number of bicycles in our country. And especially in student cities (like Delft) you can see hundreds of bicycles parked at the railway station. After a night of snow, the bicycles looked in the early morning sun like tasty cakes, covered with a thick layer of whipped cream, yummy! But it's quite hard to recognize and find your own bike in this situation...

P.S. Forgot to save the information on shutterspeed and aperture before I erased the file from my memory card... :-(
