Photographer's Note

You have to find this place, you just pass it by, without realizing it. The Hillegonda church is built on a so-called 'donk'; let's say a 'sort of hill'. The genesis history goes back to a geomorphological form. During the ice age (the Weichselian) there was a cold climate. There was hardly any vegetation that held the sand. 'Dunes' have emerged on the lee side of river beds. And a little higher in the now urban landscape, people are closer to god. The church is of a breathtaking beauty, with a large organ. Worth to visit. With a bit of luck you get a cup of coffee and a tour of one of the many volunteers.
