Most trains in the Netherlands are operated by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS, Netherlands Railways). A few lines are operated by Arriva, a British-based public transport operator. One of those lines is the Merwede-Lingelijn, between Dordrecht and Geldermalsen, since 2006.
The Spurt is a type of stoptrein (for short routes, like the NS Sprinter) that is used in this line.
This photo shows a Spurt in Dordrecht, province of Zuid-Holland.
Arriva colors are very different from the usual yellow and blue of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

A maioria dos comboios nos Países Baixos são operados pela companhia das Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS, Ferrovias Holandesas). Algumas linhas são operadas pela Arriva, uma empresa de transportes públicos de base britânica. Uma dessas poucas linhas é a Merwede-Lingelijn, entre Dordrecht e Geldermalsen, desde 2006.
O Spurt é um tipo de Stoptrein (para rotas de curta distância, como o Sprinter das NS) que é usado nesta linha.
Esta foto mostra um Spurt em Dordrecht, província de Zuid-Holland.
As cores da Arriva são muito diferentes do habitual amarelo e azul das Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Hello Francesco,

You found a small railway station with a very modern train nice to the left.
You was very close to our friend Jaap, Dordrecht!
This gives a good perspective, sharpness and clarity are nice.

Un buen contraste el que ofrece esta pequeña estacion con un tren tan moderno, la composicion tiene un buen balance de color con el anden en sombras y el resplandeciente rojo recibiendo la luz.

Hi Francisco.
This is the one thing that NZ really lags, public transport. Unfortunately it is our culture to be self reliant and that includes personal transport. Great photo, the colours of the train really stand out from the BG. Well composed with good perspective also. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Francisco,
I especially like taking photos at train and metro stations when I travel! such photos present an interesting perspective and are especially interesting for those who love trains and stations :)
Nothing special, maybe - just a train station... but the bright red and white colours of the train make the whole scene shine! I also like it that there is a bit of red colour on the right - some object on the platform: it adds a good balance for red colour on the left :)
I wonder if you could make the right (shaded) part of the photo a bit brighter in an editing program... to make the people more visible.

Hi Francisco,
Strong perspective here. And well working light, train in sunshine while the platform is in shadow.
Fun play with names: Arriva calls this Spurt while builder, Stadler, calls these trains FLIRT (Fast Light Innovative Regional Train).

The composition has very good lines!
The red train is of course the eye-catcher, but my attention also goes to the lady in the shade with the heavy luggage...
