Holland land of horses Photo

Photographer’s Note

As a cyclist you come around every part of your country several times a year. Then you can see the tendencies in the appearing of the landscape.
The cows in the dutch meadows are dissapearing more and more while sheep and horses take their place. This photo made around Egmond, 40 km northwest of Amsterdam illustrates that very well.
The sunlight is filtered by the clouds that were not thick enough to keep the sun out.

Hi Gerrit,

Well composed and peaceful landscape!
It is harmony to see the spectacle from which the horses are pastured in smooth meadow as for the mind. And, the pinwheel that exists in the background is drawing out the spectacle that seems to be the Netherlands. If I say the desire a little technically, it's better to decrease a bit black tone with which the whole is covered, I think. I tried a workshop, yet this is my personal taste and I hope that you don't mind. And, I'm sorry if it's differnt color tone from the image you saw actually.

Ik hou van de aanblik van deze prachtige paarden op de groene Paradera, maar dat mijn ogen zijn, of lijken te weerspiegelen het gras is verspreid over het hele beeld waardoor het een groenige tint.
Uitstekende compositie en perspectief.

Dag Gerrit,

Inderdaad met de fiets ziet u veel meer dan met de auto.
Die mooie landelijke beelden komen achter elke bocht te voorschijn, alleen moet men de tijd ervoor nemen om te stoppen en een goede foto te maken, ik was deze voormiddag ook op pad, een beetje koud deze morgen +3°.
Goed beeld met de paarden en de molen in de achtergrond.
Mooi landelijk beels, bedankt.

Nicely exposed with a good FG of grasses. It is unfortunate that being a windy day they are mostly standing to face the wind or against it and since they are near the frame edge it is not considered the best composition. However having said that it is good to break the rules sometime. I do like the one white horse among the chestnut group.

Een hele mooie foto met de paarden op de voorgrond. Knap contrast met het witte paard en dan nog een prachtig zicht op de achtergrond. Knap gezien en prachtig vastgelegd!
