Photographer’s Note

The colourful red and blue old wooden houses represents the classic Bergen. The time this houses were built, white paint was far more expencive, so it was not approachable for working class house owners. The wooden houses are very much selfgrown, without to much regulations from local authorities. Framed by brickhouses from around 1890 on each side.

Hi Erling,
The colorful houses have a unique charm indeed. I really like it. Also the tree with the autumn leaves contributes to the variety of colors. It is pity though that the sky is white, with a blue sky or some interesting clouds it would be happier.
On the other hand this sky and this light does give a special cold atmosphere which is probably true in Norway :)

I like this one also.
When I look at this photograph, I feel immediately in Norway! Great trip.
Norwegian houses, as they are very coloured, represent really a subject interesting and quite exploitable by the photographers. An your shot is a good example !
I like the colors, the framing and the POV. Perhaps, the sharpness could be a little improved.
For the sky, I agree with mkamionka.

Those smart houses are really photogenic! How intense are the colours and how harmonious are the shapes and proportions!
I think I've been here when I was in Bergen, is that the area you go through when descending from the Mount Floyen?
(I guess the sky was cloudy like very often in Bergen!)
I really liked this charming city of yours, I spent a very pleasant holiday there.
