Photographer’s Note

Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a reminder of the town’s importance as part of the Hanseatic League’s trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. Many fires, the last in 1955, have ravaged the characteristic wooden houses of Bryggen. Its rebuilding has traditionally followed old patterns and methods, thus leaving its main structure preserved, which is a relic of an ancient wooden urban structure once common in Northern Europe. Today, some 62 buildings remain of this former townscape.

A good perspective on these colourfully painted façades, which recede nicely into the far distance. Colour saturation seems just about right and the sharpness is excellent. The people contribute much to the mood. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Leonor,

Sometimes the things that please us most are those that we immediately recognize. This scene is thoroughly familiar to me, since I've walked up and down half-a-dozen times on each of three visits. The rich and varied colors, brilliantly captured represents a good introduction to Bergen's famous city. Not far away, of course, is Edward Grieg's house on a fjord, which you must have visited also.

A famous and superb place. The POV well selcetd give a pleasant graphic effect. Colors of the houses and contrats very well collected too. The cables in the sky give plesant graphic effect. Elements of life too with the peopels.

Hi Leonor,

A surprising but excellent flash back in your gallery. These world famous place is always attractive, especially if you have the luck that it isn’t raining.
It is interesting to see the difference in blue in this picture and those from Brazil.

Acho interessantes essas casas todas iguais, que vejo muito em fotos da Europa! Essas ainda são diferenciadas pelas cores, porque tem umas que devem confundir qualquer bêbado que volta pra casa no fim da noite... Hehehe! As cores estão excelentes, assim como a perspectiva. Belo trabalho!

sacré voyage au bout du monde pour toi et ce afin d'admrirer les paysages peu communs de cette région scandinave, richement colorée et auxx symbôles du passé avec cette allusion aux vikings sur cette échoppe.

esta antigua arquitectura de madera no deja insensible a nadie que pueda verla personalmente, a mí ya me impresiona y me seduce verla en las fotos.
Y tu encuadre que realza su belleza en una elegante diagonal y con una profunda perspectiva es una buena opción para disfrutarla.
Es una foto magnífica, a pesar de sus 7 años de edad, con una buena luz y un colorido muy atractivo.

Essa linha de casas típicas coloridas é realmente um ótimo tema para fotos, e esse ângulo valorizou bem a fachada das casinhas e anulou bem o problema dos fios, que nem estão chamando a atenção. Muito bom trabalho, parabéns!

This might be a classic view of Bryggen, but this a picture that is better than most. I love the clarity of it. I do not think you could take a very much picture than this in daylight. TFS.
