The winner!
Ok so the actual winner isn't exactly looking into the camera but I think you get the idea.
Photo was taken some time in November 2005 while I was serving my duty as a royal Guardsman.
This event here isn't a fight or a dispute, rather it was the friendly decision of who was the strongest.
They were having the contest, The Guards Strongest Man (GSM).
A total of some 10 qualified people had competed through some 5 events:
Carpulling (2ton military jeep)
Wheel tumble (Big bulldozer wheel, 260 kilos
Hercules hold (Straight arms with 6.5 kilos in each hand)
Benchpress (80 kilos on the bar)
Farmers Walk (50 meter walk with 40 kilo weights in each hand)
Two contestands were tied after the 5 contests, it ended in armwresling.
The winner was Ove Mikael Havelend of Company 4.
Runner up was Petter Johansen Company 2.

Had to run photo through photo shop and neatimage, the light conditions at this place was horrible, almost every photo was ruined!

A wonderful picture - full of passion and suspense! These faces around the two competitors are really great! An unusual but thus very good reportage photo. thank you for showing!

Very intense... it is inevitable to feel the tension in this shot. Your angle was a nice one for the losser :) If only he would won the match you could have had a winner face! :D I guess the guy in the other side of the picture got a better angle for the winnner face (altough he seens a little shy too).

Good use of a grand angular, as everything is focused. Nice composition! The guy at right almost ruined the shot, but it's ok.

Well seen, my friend!

Hello Odd Jarle. The photo "the winner" pleases me very well. Fully action and power with arm pressures. The faces of the spectators show the tension. A good snapshot and well taken photo. Many greetings, Wolfgang.
