Natural colours. Only postwork: Moderate light/contrast adjustment.

This is not about the beautiful setting by the lake. This is about a hydro powerplant: Solbergfoss II. Regard the house at right, as it is all you can see of this power plant, the rest is deep down underground in solid rock. Best of all: NO pollution.

Solbergfoss II began to feed into the grid in the spring of 1985. The new power station was built in accordance with modernday standards. A small building at the edge of a grassy bank is the only visible result. Everything else is underground.
The Solbergfoss power station produces a total of some 900 million kWh during a normal year. This is equivalent to the annual consumption of 45.000 single-family houses heated with electricity, and accounts for 1 per cent of Norway’s total electricity supply.

I wouldn't have known it Jack. The trees on the next shore and thinking about the 'extended" reflections of the lights, together with the light quality sandwiching the scene is pretty captivating.

Jack...this must be a hydro powerplant then, to be this clean and with almost zero enviromental impact.

Hi Jack,
A simple but very pleasing composition! You convey the Northers autumn colours very well, and it is interesting to see the blue sky fading into pink as the day is coming to an end... Interesting reflections from the street lamp posts

Hi Jack,
A nice classical composition.
Good reflexion in the lake.
Not a fan of your frame.

Didier

It certainly is a beautiful place, even though it has been "created" by man. Nicely captured (especially the reflections!) and the message behind it is equally nice. Man should use what he finds in nature much more (and I'm not talking about carburants). It would make the world such a much nicer place, especially for the generations to follow.

Hello Jack,
Nice link between the power plant and reflected lanterns on the water.I like the compo and how the brightness developes from below to the top.
Greetings,
hermann

Nice add to the previous one from the plant, Jack. A calm mood is conveyed and the framing is well done with the majority of the photo occupied by the water that renders these pleasant reflections, including the "long" light traces. Beautiful with the natural colors.

Daniel.

Nice warm colors. Lovely, peaceful atmosphere.
I would have cropped a bit more underneath to get to a even more panoramic format, but nevertheless the picture is very pleasant to look at. Very good note too.
Have a nice day.
