Splash in the water

I felt I needed to add something from Norway again...
This is a photo I took this weekend in Tananger outside Stavanger.
Every year there is held a local celebration here, nothing special really just a local festival.
One of the things that is a standard at this festival is a competition called "Ta sjansen", literally it means "Take a chance" but a better translation would be "Give it a go...)
It is based on a tradition from a bigger festival in Oslo that included people sending their homemade rafts down a big slide, the goal being to reach a floating bell in the water some distance from the ramp.
Originally they also had a cycling competition which consisted of cycling on a narrow path floating on water.
This scene from Tananger is based on that cycling challenge, only they gradually changed it to have two people competing against each other by balancing over floating logs, then running 10 (tight) laps around a bottle before finally running back over the floating log.
Well, needless to say this you guy had some trouble keeping the balance...
I have also posted a photo of the millisecond before he landed this majestic "Splash in the water"
The photo was taken with my EOS 40D set to aperture priority.
Enjoy.

Hi, Odd.
You captured THE MOMENT, the true moment...
I like dynamic and energy of this shot.
Just one flaw : you were too attracted by the painting of reflection in the water, so, you did not catch all hand in the foreground ;).
Best regards. Grazyna.
Hello odd
interesting picture. The movment is very well captured. Perhaps I would have prefer a better focus on child face?.
Anyway, not easy to say because it's more a sort of feeling. But you were in good timing and with this type of picture difficult to 'think" really to what you want because it go so fast!.
Best regards
JMarc
