Photographer’s Note

Some of you may remember my last posting ”Gone Fishing”? Today’s image was taken two minutes earlier, as the kids are about to launch the boat for their fishing trip! If you look closely you can see them near the boathouse in the middle of the frame…

This place is a branch of Lake Svorksjøen, which is located in the hills between the two major valleys in Central Norway. The lake is a popular place for weekend visitors from Trondheim – the city located around 50 km away - and many have cabins around the lake.

Some facts: Lake Svorksjøen has an area is 3,6 km2, altitude 237 m, and is located where the municipalities Meldal, Orkdal and Melhus are meeting. Trout is the fish those youngsters are after…

The workshop image shows Lake Svorksjøen from a different point of view at a different time of year – namely in spring.

Hi Pablo,

The reflections on the water are assets tpo the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the boat which is giving depth to the photo. The good luminosity is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Is it fall season already ? Have a nice day.

A beautiful autumn picture. It's a long time ago, that I have seen autumn like this. The colors of the leaves are so nice and vibrant. The sharpness is great and DOF is at its best. I love that little red spot at the right side. One could argue and say there should be a boat, but I thinks it has not to be. it would be a bonus.

Looks like you are longing for autumn. It is indeed a very fine season for photographing. Here you make excellent use of the lighting. I love the constast between the autumn leaves in back-light and the very dark pine forest and dark water of the lake. TFS and have a nice weekend!

Not easy light to manage, but you turned it into an asset. The brightest tree on the left makes the perfect frame, and there are some gorgeous reflected colours in the darkest part of the water. Well done

Hello Pablo,

you chose a difficult situation here with a large dark area... yet it's the light at the left which makes the biggest feature of the image, creating a strong contrast with the darker parts. Furthermore it's those Autumn colours the justification for choosing that particular spot. You played with those different shades of colours, and you played well!

Rich mixture of complimentary autumn colors are seen reflection in the slightly riffling mountain lake.
There is nothing like getting out on the lake one last time before winter closes it down.

In comparison to the last post, this one is better compositionally and technically, however, still not among your superb quality shots in your gallery. This one is pleasant enough to enjoy, it give me a bit of a meloncholy mood as falls is not far away now. I do like the reflection in the dark ink water and the speckles of light on the foreground leaves.

The cusp created by the autumn coloured foliage, bounding the lake on two sides is what appeals to me most!...and then I like the relection of the sky in the bottom right of the image! The boats & the guys are quite tiny in this picture. The exposure has been handled beautifully!

Luminosity not easy to manage but I like the final quality of the image which emphasizes well these pretty autumnal colors. I hope that the autumn of this year will be also very beautiful… Contrast between the foreground and the background is interesting.
