[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
Take a look at the person sitting on the edge on the right side of the rock...

Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock is a massive cliff 604 metres above Lysefjorden. The top of the cliff is approximately 25 by 25 metres, square and almost flat, and is a famous tourist attraction in Norway.

There is a trail to the rock through different mountain landscapes.
The walk is very steep in places. The path takes about 5 hours for a round trip hike and starts at the Preikestol-hytte at a height of approximately 270 metres, and climbs to 604 metres. Eventhough the elevation difference is only 334 metres and the walk is not particularly long (3.8 km each way) the actual hike is more than one might initially expect as the path goes up and down various ridges.
On clear days you get a great view of the Lysefjord.

To date no safety ledge has been constructed on the edges of the cliff despite the great danger, in order to preserve the natural beauty of the cliff.
There is no record of anyone falling over the side of the cliff accidentally, but there have been several deaths due to suicide.

Hello Kris
Excellente image.
L'impression du vide est bien la.

Christophe

Powerfull photo! Congrats.
I like the composition, and obviously... the object is clear and effective.

There is NO WAY I would be sitting on that edge. I can take in the view perfectly well from 2 meters back. Nice POV, though, placing the rock against the view seen from it. A spectacular place! It would be better in lower-angled light, but if you need a long hike to get there, it's hard to be there at sunrise/sunset. Regards, Ken.

Hello Kris,

fantastic place and great point of view. I like it a lot, I played with your picture in the workshop, I hope you do not mind.

Thanks for sharing

Bonjour Kris,
une vue vertigineuse de ce rocher très célèbre, qui vaut le détour.
Un POV encore un peu plus en altitude qui le rend bien plus troublant.
Excellente profondeur et des lumières pas faciles.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hello Kris,
thanks for sharing such a beauty with us as I think I never seen this place before. The view is simply stunning with the inclusion of the tourists giving a great sense of the proportion. I'm very envious of the guy sitting on the edge and the view he can enjoy from up there..amazing scenario!
Thanks for sharing it and have a great weekend.
Regards,

Igor
