View to the fjord Photo

Photographer’s Note

Stegasteinen is the name of the wonderful viewpoint. The view was incredible - especially towards north. Stegasteinen is located in the mountains above Aurland. The fjord is Aurlandsfjorden, which is a branch fjord in Sognefjorden. Sognefjorden is the second longest fjord in the world with its 205 km, after Scoresbysund in the eastern part of Greenland. Some of the surrounding mountains rises up to almost 2000 masl. The Stegastein viewpoint can be found if you drive Snøvegen (Aurlandsvegen), which goes between Aurland and Lærdal. The world's longest road tunnel does also go there, but this road is really has a lot of beautiful sights.

It is really a very impressive view Fredrik. YOur poit of view was right! Nice colors and depth. The place is very high! the river waves are charming.

Norway´s fjords are amazing and beautiful. Concerning your photo - I like the composition with the curvated handrail in the foreground and the wide view on the fjord with the clouds in the background.

Spectacular and beautiful the sight of this fjord, the capture has a great depth in the sight, the range of colors of the green one to the blue wonderful, the sky also was accompanying with these cottony clouds.

I was standing on this place in august 2007, and I think even have a view from it uploaded at TE. I am not sure about this fg detail, I think there is too much of it in the frame, but for the rest - a wonderful view.
