Photographer’s Note

Old wooden houses in contrast to newer buildings in the background. Taken at the part of Bergen called Nordnes. In this part of town, many wooden houses was destroyed in an accident during the second world war, 20th april 1944. The boat Voorbode exploded and caused fires and destroyed houses all over this part of town. Still some of this fine, old wooden houses are left, and when newer buildings appears, it can make a great contrast.
