Photographer’s Note

The temperatures are going down towards 0 degrees Celsius these times. Bergen is the second largest city in Norway, and is often called the city between the seven mountains. Actually, I would say there are much more mountains in the municipality of Bergen (465 square km.). The highest is Gullfjellet, which is almost 1000 metres above sea level. There were laying a white carpet of snow already in the first days of october. Some days the snow crawled down to 700 masl. I decided to climb the third highest mountain in Bergen on such a day. The mountain is situated on the border between three municipalities (Bergen, Os and Samnanger), and rises to 843 metres above sea level.

It didn't look like so much snow in the beginning, but when I came closer to the top, it became more and more winter in the surroundings. The top was covered with a up to half a meter thick milky white carpet of snow. It was really winter up there as you see!

The winter will come to the lowland too, it's just a question of when!
