Photographer’s Note

In Norway the evergreens are dominated by fir and pine, basically they live side by side but the pine prefer higher altitudes… and the tree line for fir is lower than for the pines. To be accurate, the species here is Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris).

Pine is by far the more expensive wood. While fir is used for paper production and construction of smaller houses, the pine is used for furniture and interior details.

Here I’m just waiting for a couple of moose to show up! The brownish moor tells this is late autumn, in fact in the middle of moose hunting season so I should not be in a place like this at all, a dangerous time of year in the forest! And this year we had more hunting accidents than usual…

I like the tilting tree on the left, great texture of the bark, the clearing is amazing:) The warm light is managed well, nicely found and seen.

Three elements are very nice for look at.
The soft cloudy sky.
A soft green area through the pinetrees.
Also the earth gives a nice colour and a very good feeling.

This is a great landscape shot taken under nice lighting. The long shadows create nice diagonals through the shot creating a sense of direction. The colors are great and warm and the photo is sharp with good depth.

What a nice autumn forest, even it is evergreen, but the soil shows the season. The contrast of the brown-red soil vs. the green and the blue are looking impressive. Perfect framing to achieve a high DOF and sharpness. well done

Hej Pablo,
A very typical Nordic landscape with very typical autumn colours. The low sunlight gives a very warm colour to the picture, but I guess that the real temperature is not that high, being in the middle of October. Probably a good place to look for cloudberries in July though...

very beautiful image. I liked the central pine tree and the blue hole in the sky above, the golden ground is beautiful. the trunk in the foreground is perfect to give a nice dof. sad to stay in danger with guns while being in a forest, here this would be very rare, it is a crime to hunt savage animals in my state.

The point of view takes my eyes toward the en of the tree line which is giving depth and perspective to the composition. The trees are framing well the clearing. The cloudy sky is sending a light which is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

We have bright orange vests and hats to wear during hunting season but still people get shot, I think buck fever kicks in when hunters think they have a trophy in their sights. Nice catch, well framed and good handling of light. Thanks for sharing.

Really damage that during hunting we cannot benefit from nature with complete freedom without being afraid to take lead in the buttocks !!! A very beautiful autumnal photograph where I appreciate much the harmony of the colors and this good framing with this pine on the left which balances the image and gives depth. Thank you Pablo.

Excellent depth for this forest scene, and good colors in spite of the clouded sky. But not so clouded as to block the light, as can be seen with the nice shadows on the ground.

Hi Pablo,
The braod meadow, allow us to appreciate the detail of the trees; interestying dynamic tension between the FG leaning tree and the stalwart pine standing alone...it's almost like the two are facing off. The long shadows add more drama as does that touch of blue framed by the excellent cloud detail. Very nice work, I like it a lot.

A really fine presentation of the Nordic pine forest. wonderful autumn lighting and colours It is interesting to compare to Sweden where perhaps the moor landscape is not the most common type of land for a pine forest. In Sweden it is common that pine are growing on sandy soil. What we in Swedish call mo or tallmo when pine trees are growing there. I do not know you might call it in Norwegian, furemo? Hello Pablo, there are several things to like about this scene, no eucalyptus tree to start with, most of the pine trees we see, in this quantity are usually planted just for their wood, I think mainly the building industry, of course the others are composition, colour, detail & depth. A beautiful look at nature well captured, I can almost breath in the fresh air from here. Well done,

Lovely northern woods with the sharply detailed evergreens contrasting brilliantly with the silver-blue sky.
The red grasses give this image a nice autumn tinge.
In NY's Adirondacks the evergreens dominate yet there is a generous mix of birch and maple.

Very nice view in three parts: the sky, the trees and the brown ground.
I didn't notice many pines when I was in Norge, perhaps because I was not much on higher altitudes.
In Portugal there are many pines too, even at seaside (different species), but much pines here are plantations, not real wild forests.
