The Nigardsbreen Glacier is one of the most accessible glaciers, where you can peer into the blue ice at very close range.
When you drive up the scenic valley of Jostedalen, you will end up at the Breheimsenteret - the national park centre.
From this centre it is a short drive up to the car park, and from there you can either walk along the lake up to the glacier itself or take the boat across the lake. Even at this low altitude of close to 300 metres above sea level, you get the feeling that you are in an alpine, even polar environment between the lake and the glacier tongue.
The girl who was walking around the front was the only tourist but happened to have the right colored dress to be in nice contrast with the blue of the ice, and also gives the right size of the height of the glacier front.

Hi Kris,
the "red person" makes a great contrast to the impressive ice formation and provides the scale of the place. Very beautiful also the blue hue of the crevasses.
Thanks for sharing

Bonjour Kris,
je suis impressionné par cette photo dans laquelle le personnage toute l'échelle à ce glacier.
Une photo qui montre bien ce phénomène de langue de glace et des pièges dans lesqueles il ne faut pas entrer.
Best regards.
Daniel.
Hi Kris,
woman on red and blue-white ices combination is great.wonderful light management

I like the shot, contrast between red & white & a little bite of the nice weather up there has made it quite clear that it is a glacier !!! ;-)
