Photographer's Note
This is definitely my favourite church this winter :-))) I've taken several photos in a different time of days and nights. I think here the sky is absolutely marvelous :-) Hardly and PP effects here... little correction of contrast, sharpnes, light and tilt. The sky is so beautyful thanks to the stron wind, gazing small clouds and long time of exposure.
St. Andrew's Church is the best example of the romanesque style in Cracow. This church was founded in the 11th century by Sieciech, palatine of duke Wladyslaw Herman. The fortifying character of the church is visible, especially in the lower part of the building, where walls are incredible thick and there is hardly any windows. Two beautyful slim Romanesque towers are covered with Baroque helmets. The interior is mostly Baroque.

Hi Pawel, what a fabulous effect - possibly a little too much PP work IMO but it certainly stands out from the crowd. Excellent, Roberto

It is shocking to think that there is no PP here unless adding a sky, "clarify," HDR or a filter count. Maybe I am just too much a noice to see how this could happen in camera. I personally like PP, so I like the image either way :)
In any event it is a beautiful scene. They sky is incredible and serves the importance of the church. You've managed both your shadows and highlights well with only minimal details lost. All in all, the image has a lot of "wow" factor and I enjoy looking at it.

Very nice night photo. The church is indeed beautiful and impressive and I like the differences between this baroque and the one seen in Portugal.
Regarding the photo, the colours and textures almost look unreal, to which the sky contributes very positively. The exposure is extremely well handled and I particularly like the star-shaped lights.
Still, theres a detail, which being easy to correct, damages, in my opinion, the potential of this photo. Im talking about the tilt to the right.
Even if the perspective distortion is heavy due to the height of the church, it works well as it transmits an imposing feeling from the building. Still, summing to this distortion theres a tilt to the right as both towers are leaning to that side (the right one a bit less) and that unbalances the picture. I think it would be a good idea to rotate the photo a bit to the left so that both towers had the same inclination degree towards the centre of them.
Its a simple issue but that affects a bit the appreciation of the image.

Niesamowity jest ten św. Andrzej w takim oświetleniu - jak statek na oceanie. A niebo - niesamowite, takie rozpędzone. Piękny efekt. Pozdrawiam T.

Hello, Pawel, what an amazing shot. The lighting, the sky, your composition is top rate. It's such an unusual shot, it almost looks like a holiday display in a shop window. Incredible capture. TFS, Shelly

This is a superb shot Pawel, on many different levels. The composition and framing are first rate, and the church looks great set against that intense evening sky. I see so many great night shots on this site that are spoilt by featureless black skies, and I'm glad you haven't fallen into that trap. It's all down to good timing, and you took this at the perfect point in the evening.
You controlled the difficult lighting very well, and that light trail is a nice touch.
The only thing I don't like about this is the square crop, but perhaps there was something you didn't want to include that was getting in the way.
Good work!
Cheers,
Ben

Witaj Pawle,
Pozdrawiam,

Really a magnific picture! Have you done a stop without the 10-20? Probably a 50 mm or a 110 mm could have excluded the buildind on the right exalting the church.

Excellent night image. You have good exposure - often where the lights are shining can get blown out in long exposures, but you've had enough surounding light to fill everything in.
I plan to visit Krakow next month. Perhaps I will remember some of the places you have shown here.

Brilliant sky... brilliant photographer. Personally, with a lens with a so wide angle, i would try the perspective correction, but it's not a reproach, it's only that i don't like distortions when they're far. But technically, your picture is flawless.
