Double miner life, a photo from Slaskie, Ouest

Photographer's Note

Today in Poland is a miners holiday (I am not sure that word "holiday" is good) We called it Barbórka beacouse św.Barbara is a miners patron. in case of these holiday a made 14 miners double-portraits to show how deferent are these people. A half a life underground and the other half with family.

At the photo there is Stanislaw Sadowski, a miner -mechanic. He came from north of Poland to Silesa 30 years ago.

10 of portaits was published in Gazeta Wyborcza, Katowice-Bielsko Biala edition.

kapitalne, ale taka jest historia tysięcy górników (i nie tylko) żyjących obecnie na śląsku;
znakomity pomysl z zestawieniem 2 portretów;
chylę czola prze pomyslem, bardzo ważne i bardzo dobre zdjęcie(a), alek;

great shot. i like the eyes exactly at the same place and position on the two shots, it creates a hidden link between the 2 faces.

This idea of putting the two portraits together is excellent and forces the viewer to look at it in a different way and maybe project him/herself into him... very clever and well done!
