Piotrkowska Street (Polish: ulica Piotrkowska) is the representative street of Lodz with a length of 4.2 km. It is one of the major tourist attractions of the city. It runs between the Liberty Square (Plac Wolnosci) and the Independence Square (Plac Niepodleglosci).
It has a function similar to a market square of old towns in other cities.
In the summer season, colorful restaurant gardens encourage to relax. Everyone can ride a rickshaw or take the “trambus” by the street and see the monuments of, for example, Trzej Fabrykanci (Three Manufacturers), Laweczka Tuwima (Tuwim’s Bench) or Pomnik Lodzian Przelomu Tysiacleci (Monument of Citizens of Lodz at the Turn of the Millennium) – 12,859 blocks with engraved names. When visiting “Pietryna” (ul. Piotrkowska), one can look at the beautiful facades of the houses.
