Katowice, Zaleze district.
One of the poorest in Silesia and the poorest in Katowice. But lets have a talk about photo :)

This man was under the influence of an alcohol.
I do not remember the name of dog.

Who allowed You to photograph my flat !!?? - he shout to me.

No one, I was walking and decite to "catch" it. It is interesting for me - I answered

Who allowed You to walk near my home and photograph it !!?? - the man repeat a question

No one. I am a photographer. - I answer again

Are You from press ? - the man asked

Yes, I am - I answer

Okay, but remebmer it was last time I give You permission to walk near my flat and photograph it !!!!

Anyway it was funny "conversation" :). At left mans hand there is a beer and at right hand there is a vodka in plastic bottle. (Beer of coure as a chase) or two bottles as weights :)

Czesc Aleksander. A nice street shot, the b/w is really good. Good moment too, the man's cautious steps seem more to save him from breaking bottle instead of breaking bones. The little story is also good, amusing. Pozdrawiam.

Very nice, Aleksander, this image really tells a story. A depressing scene, with depressing dirty snow and alcohol and a drab building. The wide angle, with your framing, works very well to take in the whole scene. Two small comments: it looks slightly tilted toward the left, and what are all the black spots in the air? Hi Aleksander,

I think this is an excellent example of persistence in order to gain a great photo. The composition is good because the position of the man in relation to the angles of the house enhances the dynamic quality. Did you take this in low light as it looks grainy?

Are those dark blobs in the sky bits of snow?

Thanks for adding your detailed note, it helps me to gain more from the picture - in fact I found it funny and sad.

strong image, shows us the hard life of the people in this area, the snow and the grainy b&w contribute to the hard feeling of the shot. well done

The photo is splendid. Composition, snow, black and white, the house and, even, the man and the dog.
But after read your (fun) note I must say I see the photo in a different way.
And I like it.

No widzisz jakie miales szczescie ze ci ten uprzejmy obywatel dal pozwolenie na fotografowanie jego dzielnicy !!! ha ha ha
Swietne zdjecie, podoba mi sie sposob w jaki uchwycony jest budynek, jest on ciekawy sam z siebie ale na tym zdjeciu wyglada jeszcze bardziej anormalnie.

That s an interesting picture Alan. The note is good to read. I once had the same kind of conversation in Japan but it was a commercial reason they told me :) Moreover I was wearing a suit to go to work which explain why they never thought of me as a photographer ! I would never give such a reason anyway.

Nice black and white tones and interesting to see daily life views like that.
