Photographer’s Note

The pilgrimage chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz (Our Lady of Peace) is a hilltop chapel just above the town of Vila Franca do Campo, with wonderful views over the south coast of the island of Sao Miguel in the Acores.
The architecture of the edifice has many of the elements and features characteristic for the Acores, with sharp contrasts between white chalked walls, black stone and blue/white ceramic plates (often depicting Biblic scenes).

Hi Kris!
I have some photos of this chapel, but unfortunately, when I was there it was raining a lot, so they're terrible. I guess you weren't much luckier with the weather, but it's surely much better. I even like the dark sky and this staircase with the blue&white tiles is great.You even captured some people at the top!
