Photographer’s Note
Monsanto is a village of Portugal of the region of Beira.
Belonging " Aldeias históricas of Portugal " was considered to be the most Portuguese people, his medieval delight makes it unrepeatable, labyrinthine streets get lost for his and to rise to the high thing to contemplate the sight from his castle is an authentic experience.
Monsanto is nailed in the slope of a small but steep mountain, characterized by big masses of granite that often are a part of the housings. On top of the mount placed in granitic masses one finds the imposing castle of Monsanto now already in state of ruin, but that there even preserves well his wall, court of weapon and turrets.
Several routes exist to visit Monsanto, they all demand the visitor to be used well to walking, since the locality is placed in the hillside of a mountain and on having begun the visit all the streets are steep.
The most interesting route is the so called " Route two penedos together " this route departs from the entry of the people and comes up to the Romanesque chapel of San Miguel where there can be admired the most ancient graves excavated in the granitic rock.
The attraction of this route is the scenery, the sights that it offers of the region, and to be able to contemplate the masses of granite caracterícticas of Monsanto, having to happen below some of them; once come to the castle and after contemplating the impressive sights, it can descend for the ancient roadway of stone, covering the streets serpenteantes, stopping to contemplate the ancient chozos of stone and roof of ground.
Two WS with other captures.

Hola:
Josep

Hi Charo,
A beautiful village ... they must have strict building code enforcing red roofs... I like the architectural uniformity of the houses. I find your notes regarding the photo refreshing and interesting. Well captured and composed. Well done! tfs

Bonjour Charo,
Excellente image portuguaise.
Bonne journée
Amicalement

Hi Charo,
You found a great POV to overlook the town, which stands out really nicely against the background with its red roofs. The composition is very good with a nice inclusion of the diagonal wall in the right foreground. Great photo work!

Hola Charo
Buen encuadre y buena luz.

Hola Charo,
it is the colour composition which attracts me here by the red spots in the green and grey surrounding. Good to see from the high POV and a bit higher f-stop was possible I think for some more DOF.

Hola Charo!

Hola Charo,
for many years now I want to visit Portugal and now I know what I will want to see when I get there. This is simply marvelous! I love this settlements of stone and red roofs positioned between green landscape. They appear like made from one person, very uniformed, compact, jammed together as one bigger union ready to comfront the trouble when necessary. Great sense of community and importance of being connected. Beuatiful!
Kind regards,
Jeri
