Place :Monsanto, it is a Historical Village of Portugal.

Region: Municipality- Idanha-a-Nova / Parish-Monsanto (zone center of Portugal).

Theme: 5rd of the series, Monsanto rock strength/ Church of Stª Maria do Castelo

Monsanto, between gigantic boulders, it’s a stunning sight.

The latter was rebuilt on a former religious building belonging to Templar monks. In May, the Church witnesses the Feast of the Holy Cross, in remembrance of a siege against which the village offered resistance. They say the population drew a veal full of wheat down the slopes, deceiving the invaders and making them run away, thinking the population had plenty of provisions.

You are invited what is left of the strong Castle on the hill slope, where you can still watch the fortress, the walls and a few keep towers, as well as beautiful ruins of St. Michael’s Chapel, from the 12th century, and the” Chapel of Santa Maria do Castelo”.

* If your target is not our extraordinary beaches, you must visit our Historic Villages, for sure, you’ll not loose your precious time. There, you’ll find a sort of beauty natural stuff. All in all impossible to see in any other place in the world.

Un bon cliché de ce joli monastère avec des couleurs bien saturées qui mettent en valeur la pierre de construction. L'architecture est intéressante.

I like the colours and etxtures of the stone and the way they have been showcased against the natural blue of the sky. The dash of red adds verve as well. very lovely image with lovely composition

Wonderful detail you have captured here. The texture in the stone is fantastic. The red door looks a bit modern, must be part of the re-build. I like your composition and POV, both combine to give a striking image.

Estava-se mesmo a ver que a foto com os nossos belíssimos retratos ia ser retirada! Enfim, não faz mal nenhum.
Força da rocha... Belo título para esta foto simples, mas magnífica, com um impacto visual tão forte como a pedra áspera que mostra. Gosto imenso do enquadramento, das cores e da nitidez estupenda.

Olá Filipe, mais uma foto excelente desta tua bela colecção para quem não gosta de praia...ou para quem gosta de caminhadas em meia estação :) Bom isolamento desta capela com o azulinho do céu por trás. O granito natural a saltar em todo o lado é que encanta tanto.

Well composed image making room for the little church and the wall with the arch, which also serves to lead the eye into the frame. The texture of the stone has been captured well too.

Depois da insistência em te retirerem a foto anterior, esta escapou à tesoura da censura. Por vezes não sabemos bem o que poderá acontecer, não é verdade?
É linda esta capelinha na sua simplicidade de linhas. Gosto de ver que já foi restaurada pois o granito usado no topo diz ser mais novo que todo o outro à volta.
Gosto também do azul e branco do céu que dá muita cor à bonita composição.

The blue sky makes for a perfect BG on which the chapel stands out perfectly! The brown door is a nice detail adding a touch of color which works well with the grey tones. Light, colors and texture are great!

Hoje eu estava prestes a colocar uma foto deste lugar, é muito semelhante à sua, mas depois mudou de opinião. Me chamou a atenção que eu estava lá no dia 17 e as suas 29, a alguns dias não concordo.

This charming little chapel is seen in striking details and fantasticely clear colors. The vivid blue sky is the perfect backdrop and it contrast brilliantly with the old grey stone and lovely red door.

mais uma vez vc está fazendo jus ao sobrenome rocha.hahaha. Belíssima foto, a fachada rústica da capela está muito bem iluminada, o pov é magnífico e a composição não poderia ser melhor. meus parabéns. Vou ver se vou à este local no ano que vem, meus velhos nasceram tão perto dali e eu nunca fui visitar esta aldeia rochosa

I'm impressed with all the work you've done for Wikipedia. Although I can't read your notes, if this note is any example you combine fact with interesting detail makes great reading; nice that their strategy was success.

sem duvida que para mim esta tua série pelas ruas de Monsanto é uma daquelas que mais me atrai na tua excelente galeria, não que não goste de outros trablahos mas estas casinhas e ruelas de Monsanto são realmente muito bonitas.
A luz da foto é muito bonita, assim como o contraste entre as cores da pedra e o céu.
Esta porta de cores quentes cai ali no meio da pedra que nem ginjas :)
