Penha Garcia es una parroquia del municipio portugués de Idanha-a-Nova, con 128,57 km² de área y 1700 habitantes (2001). Altitud media: 480m.

Penha Garcia se sitúa el la falda de la Sierra del mismo nombre, en la márgen derecha del río Ponsul, al pie de las crestas cuarcíticas con formas sorprendentes.

Se trata de una villa muy antigua con poblamiento neolítico, fue castro lusitano y poblado romano.

Del castillo, edificado por lo templarios sobre un castro romano, quedan fragmentos de las murallas en buen estado de conservación. Desde allí se disfruta de unas bonitas vistas sobre toda la campiña "raina", el embalse y del valle Feitoso.

Del Patrimonio Cultural destaca también el pelourinho o picota del reinado de San Sebastián y la iglesia matriz que guarde en su interior una imagen de Nuestra Señora de la Leche de 1.489.
En el valle del río Ponsul hay numerosos fósiles marinos al lado del camino y un museo de los mismos, varios molinos de rodicio, uno de los cuales sigue en funcionamiento.

Penha Garcia is a parish in the Portuguese town of Idanha-a-Nova, with 128.57 sq km of area residents and 1700 (2001). Average altitude: 480m.

Penha Garcia is on the foothills of the Sierra of the same name, on the right bank of the river Ponsul, at the foot of the peak quartzite with surprising ways.

This is a very old town with neolithic settlement, was castro Lusitanian and Roman town.

From the castle, built by the Templars on a Roman Castro, are fragments of the walls in a good state of preservation. From there you can enjoy a nice view over the whole countryside "Rain", and the reservoir valley Feitosa.

Cultural Heritage also highlights the pillory or pillory the reign of San Sebastian and the church that bears within it an image of Our Lady of La Leche of 1.489.
In the valley of the river Ponsul there are many marine fossils on the side of the road and a museum of the same, several mills Rodicio, one of whom is still in operation.

un tres bon cadrage de cette chapelle blanche qui se détache sous un fond de ciel bleu,avec à gauche les restes du chateau si j'ai bien compris ta note,
J'aime beaucoup cet escalier qui nous emmène jusqu'à la porte de cette chapelle

Olá Charo!
Há muito tempo que não vou a Penha Garcia, mas depois de ver a igreja, acho que tenho que lá voltar:)!! Bonita foto da igrejinha com o castelo lá atrás e as plantas em primeiro plano.

Pues me gusta mucho ese color tan blanco de esta iglesia y en contraste con esas vidrieras azules, encuadre genial es curiosa tu foto WS de los fosiles y la otra de las casas parece de juguete jeje genial perspectiva, ese castillo que se ve a la izquierda tiene que ser muy interesante subirlo, siempre hay vistas espectaculares desde los castillo, o esta en ruinas?.. una parroquia muy bonita con las campanas, cuando vemos las catedrales tan grandes me parecen preciosas, pero las iglesias de los pueblos también tienen su encanto y para captar en una foto como la tuya, felicidades..

P.D. Ya me decidí por mi foto numero 100 ya la publique a ver que te parece :)

The simple white church contrast wonderfully with the vivid cloudless blue sky.

Hola Charo,
first - not to be forgotten - thanks for the interesting and good workshop additions. The fossils are great and the mill in the rocky environment is also nice. Here is the white and blue combined by a good view up for strong contrasts. Well done in hot light close to noon.

on retouve là le blanc de ces édiffice Potugais, une blancherur total, mangigique image de cette églis, quel beau cadrage avec les escaliers, superbe.

Hello Charo,
a difficult task to obtain proper exposition whith such a big strongly lighted white surface like the church here - but your camera mastered its job perfectly! The result is very good in every details, also the effect of the polfilter is excellent.
