Photographer’s Note

The castle of Arrailos (that you see here) was one of the strategic defensive circle of castles at Alentejo. With this circle was possibel to announce invasions from Spain. The ruins of this once impressive 14th Century castle overlookd the little white washed town of Arraiolos

The town of Arraiolos is renowned worldwide for its magnificent hand woven carpets originally based on Persian designs. The Arraiolos carpets are more colourful and primitive in style and can be purchased at numerous outlets in the town.

An incredible and superb depht of filed under a beautiful sky well colectd too. A very good use of the castle in the FG which give a very plesant graphic effect.

La vue panoramique permet de mieux comprendre l'édification d'un château afin de bénéficier d'une vue particulièrement privilégiée pour défendre l'ensemble.
Les vestiges permettent de se rendre compte de l'importance de cette forteresse.

What works well here is the wide open view of the land. Open sky with lovely cloud, the walls give a statement and a point of interest. the earth tone in the foreground contrast well and complement the blue and green. Thanks
