Gaudeamus ! part 1 Photo

Photographer’s Note

Bacchenalia des étudiants d'Arts Plastiques à Lisbonne, dans le quartier Bairro Alto. Je les ai rencontrés le dernier jour de mon séjour à Lisbonne, en fin d'après-midi. Ils étaient en train de se déplacer d'un endroit à l'autre, et consommer de la sangria directement des bouteilles ou bien dans les verres jetables à bière "sangres".
Quand j'étais étudiante dans les années 80 en Pologne, j'ai seulement entendu parler des Bacchenalias...en raison de l'état de siège, les rassemblements étaient interdits. En revanche, nous avons bien appris l'hymne des étudiants "Gaudeamus igitur juvenes dum sumus" :) dont voici le premier couplet, en latin et en anglais :

Gaudeamus igitur
Juvenes dum sumus
Post jucundum juventutem
Post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus.

Let us rejoice therefore
While we are young.
After a pleasant youth
After a troublesome old age
The earth will have us.

Bacchenalia of the students of Visual Arts in Lisbon, in the Bairro Alto. I met them the last day of my stay in Lisbon, in the late afternoon. They were in the process of moving from one place to another, and consume sangria directly in bottles or glasses disposable beer "Sangre".
When I was a student in the 80s in Poland, I only heard of Bacchenalias ... because of the martial state, the gatherings were banned. However, we have learned well the student anthem "Gaudeamus igitur juvenes dum sumus"). Here you are the first verse, in Latin and English:

Gaudeamus igitur
Juvenes dum sumus
Post jucundum juventutem
Post molestam senectutem
Nos habebit humus.

Let us rejoice therefore
While we are young.
After a pleasant youth
After a troublesome old age
The earth will have us.

Le cadrage serré en contre plongé donne de la vie à la scène.
Une scène de liesse et de partage qui me rappelle comme toi ma jeunesse étudiante...

Vita nostra brevis est brevi finietur (bis)
Venit mors velociter
Rapit nos atrociter
Nemini parcetur (bis)

Que je traduits en français (mon anglais est trop mauvais) :
Notre vie est brève, elle finira bientôt
La mort viendra rapidement
Elle nous arrache atrocement
En n'épargnant personne.

J'ajoute un autre couplet à ce chant que les étudiants européens ont (ou avaient) l'habitude de chanter dans des rassemblements associatifs.
Gaudeamus Igitur est une ancienne chanson d'étudiants du XVII° ou XVIII °. A ce que je sais personne n'en connaît l'origine exacte ni le nom du compositeur.

whenever i go abroad, i prefer staying in hostels, because i love the energy and fun of young people (not because i am also one of them, i especially like observing their careless attitudes and exagerrated, expressive behaviours)

this is a stunning one, your low POV, their "direct to the eye" expressions and oh yes, the BEAUTIFUL colors make this one a special photo.

ok, i won't take you to monuments in istanbul, but i cannot either promise to find you such exaggeratedy energetic acts :)

Mocne to zdjęcie jest. Podoba mi się i kompozycja i technika. Jest tak dobre, że może być materiałem do reklamy.

Witaj.

Z tych po 90-tce :-) to jest najciekawsze, jednakże nie jest tak dobre (zaplanowane i wykonane) jak tamto. Męska Julia stojąca na balkonie na razie
bije wszystkie. To moje skromne ...

Niby na the zdjęciu jest wszystko OK, jest ciekawie, akcyjnie, jednakże brakuje mi tu przestrzeni (drugiego planu). I nie mówię tu o kamieniczkach, tylko raczej o pewnego rodzaju "płaskości" zdjęcia. No chyba, że tak chciałaś ... Ale nie sądzę.
Tutaj chyba się kłania niedoskonałość "cyfrowych" obiektywów, w szczególności wszelkiej maści zoomów.
Gdyby to robił Polonez swym vintage camera, wyszłoby
na pewno bardziej przestrzennie ... bardziej plastycznie
Tego mi tu brak ...

No i jest pewien dodatek który ja bym pewnie usunął, choć wymagałoby to kilkunastu minut pracy ... znak drogowy ...

Ogólnie najlepsze po 90-tce (warte na pewno 2zielone) jednakże do 90-tki mu ciutkę :-) brakuje

To jest moje ulubione z serii Gaudeamus.
Mimo, iz jestem fanka czerni i bieli, to tu zaczarowaly mnie akurat delikatne kolory, nawet niebo ma taki specyficzny, grafitowy odcien (przynajmniej na moim monitorze). Fajni,radosni mlodzi ludzie, spogladajacy lobuzersko w obiektyw to oczywiscie gwozdz programu, niemniej jednak jestem rownie mocno urzeczona tym,jakby onirycznym, tlem.
Tak to wlasnie widze.
