Photographer’s Note
Lisboa, Bairro Alto, october 7, 2009.
Bacchealia of students of Visual Arts.
For more information, see my previous note where I posted the first verse of the international and anonymous hymn of students of the world.
Today, the second verse and its English translation:
Ubi sunt qui ante nos
In mundo fuere?
Vadite ad superos
Transite in inferos
Hos si vis videre.
Where are they
Who were in the world before us?
You may cross over to heaven
You may go to hell
If you wish to see them.
To follow...

Bonjour Grazyna
Amicalement.
Pierre.

Hola Grazyna -------->

this one is even crazier :))
how i wish i was there too...
crazier than the previous one, all in context and realization. the huge face at the bottom (and the tiny face on the top left window)! creme de la creme of a daring photo. this is a composition of a photo genius!
i guess the most exciting photos from your lisboa serie are coming one by one now!

Bonjour Grazyna,
Ça me semblait brouillon...

No, to jest słodkie ;)) Kici, kici...
Bachanalia itd. cudne.
Super.
Choć ja bym pewnie poszła w BW ;))
Pozdrawiam ciepło T.

hi grazyna
this photo is like a layer cake - the top corner with the window, the group in the middle, and the face in the foreground... lots of depth, almost telescopic!
my French needs a brush-up, but I was trying to read your replies to Marc's comment about the white balance, which is a topic I am always intrigued by. at the beginning I tried to set the WB in the camera, but soon I found out that it's unreliable - so personally I came to the conclusion that the best way for me is to use the RAW file and then, if necessary, adjust the WB in Capture NX2.
having the time, one could customize the WB in the camera, but when you have moving subjects it's basically impossible...
have a good evening,
c.

hey hey! Another great and unusual framing! Seems like you too had a good time in Lisbon! Is that a figure in the window in the distance? Three levels in one image -it somehow reminds me of a fragment of a dream I had about the place and fits so well with your note! They are surely doing what visual arts students are renowned for the world over! Thank you!
