Coudelaria (stud farm) de Alter Photo

This is a kind of mythical place for many enthusiasts of horses in Portugal, because it is the stud farm where the Portuguese horse breed "Alter Real" was originated. As far as my limited knowledge on horses goes, it is still the place where most of the best horses of that breed are created, but I believe they also create Lusitano, another Portuguese horse breed closely related to Alter Real.

It's a a big farm owned by a government foundation dedicated to the creation of horses and other things related with them. Its history had many ups and downs since its establishment as Royal stud farm in 1748, but it seems to be in good shape nowadays.

The image is a stitch of 8 shots taken hand held. I think it covers almost 270 degrees.

Lindo trabalho, amigo. Interessante a homogeneidade nas 8 fotografias que serviram de partida. Penso que normalmente elas apresentariam variações significativas de exposição mas aqui ficou excelente.

The larger image is much more interesting than this smaller post. Well done with a hand held as you got good sky tones across the 8 images and the joint lines are none existent. Well done!

Infelizmente, aqui na sonda não consigo abrir a foto no formato largo e por conseguinte também não a posso apreciar devidamente. Mas, parece ser muito bonita e digna de um pster num parade.

Gosh! 270°! Is that more than the eye can see? The stitch is immaculate with none of the fish-eye appearance one would expect from such a wide view. Everything is blended together very well. I loved examining the large version and appreciating all the detail. I also like the WS although, as you might expect me to say, I would prefer the rider to be going into the shot. ;D One of my quirks with which you are familiar I think! ;D

Simplesmente fantástico. Parece-me que o pessoal não aprecia muito os LP, já eu gosto muito quando têm a qualidade desta tua foto num trabalho de 8.
A qualidade e a cor estão magnificas. Conheço bem o local,por vezes vou a Alter do Chão.

Hello Jose, on my way to Portalegre I visited this lovely town last winter,but without knowing its reputation on traditional horse breeding. An extraordinary photo, with an angle of 270°, which makes it a peculiar one. Congratulations ! Tolga

Franchement je trouve ce panorama fort intéressant.
La mise au point est parfaite sur les bâtiments et l'avant-plan, je constate une parfaite netteté.
A part quelques différences sur les tons de bleus du ciel, cet effet peut être diminué en utilisant une plus longue focale, mais cela nécessite au moins 16 photos :)

Olá José,
Esta é daquelas versões grandes (e teu trabalho de colagem) que está tão boa que a crítica acaba por não ser substancial. A crítica é: não se vê viv'alma; faz lembrar um parque temático antes de abrir a bilheteira. Mas este factor imagino que dificilmente poderias controlar.
Há também umas zonas diferentes que se notam no chão e no céu, mas não são significativas tendo em conta a qualidade geral.
Um bom trabalho, também para dar a conhecer a Coudelaria.

Bonjour José,

Il est magnifique ce panorama, tu es champion dans ce genre d'exercice désormais. En version large on se croirait sur le terrain. Les couleurs, saturées avec soin, et la lumière sont superbes. Quant à la netteté, c'est ce que j'apprécie le plus, ce qui rend la lecture de l'image réellement plaisante. Du beau boulot photographique, bravo José et merci pour la photo en WS, ce cavalier ajoute un peu de vie dans l'image.
