Marvão - World Heritage candidat
Nearby the border with Spain, situated between Castelo de Vide and Portalegre, on the highest point of the lovely São Mamede mountain, in Alentejo, is situated this charming village of Marvão.
In a peacefull and relaxing environment, surrounded by 13th and 17th century defensive walls, Marvão rises high, with its lovely white houses, narrow and winding streets, showing that time is not as quick as it often seems.
The archaeological vestiges of the region date back to the Palaeolithic and Neolithic Period, with many menhirs and antas all around the area, as well as an important Roman archaeological station.
A spectacular medieval walled village perched 900 metres high on a rocky crag.

Tudo bem contigo?

a vista é extraordinária com a vista sobre a vila e os montes ao fundo, criando um enquadramento de grande beleza.
Lidaste muito bem com a luz que se vê ser bem forte e do meio do dia.
O ponto fraco, ou menos bom, da tua foto é o faco de se notar uma dominante de cor naquele primeiro edificio que era suposto ser branco, talvez o que devesses ter feito ao acertar as cores era criar uma outra camada, independente da original para que depois não se notasse no resto da foto o acerto de cores.
Outro detalhe, este já não sei se são as cores da Nikon conhecidas por serem mais saturadas do que outras marcas, mas parece-me que exageraste um pouquinho.
De resto tens aqui uma bela foto e um enquadramento muito bonito.

Bonita vista da cidade construída no topo da montanha! A foto tem uma profundidade muito boa, com as montanhas ao fundo muito bonitas, além do céu que está igualmente belo! Belíssima composição! Bom trabalho!

Olá Filipe. Um POV muito bom a dar uma grande sensação de profundidade. Elementos muito bem colocados emparticular a gurita e as primeiras casas. As camadas de montanhas fazem também um efeito muito bom. Quanto às cores, sou obrigado a concordar com o PAulo Mendonça :) ou então o meu monitor está marado :). Um abraço. Paulo

It's not yet done with the UNESCO World heritage ? The place deserves it, one of my favorites in Portugal. The PoV from the castle is good but you have spoiled this image adding too much color saturation, more is not always better...

Esta vista sobre a zona histórica de Marvão está muito boa apesar das cores demasiado puxadas. A imagem tem uma tonalidade azul muito acentuada o que a torna um bocado irreal.

Um belo ponto de visão sobre a igreja os jardins e a muralha deste lugar magnifico , já estive aqui uma vez , gostei das cores , só foi pena parede da igreja ter ficado com uns tons azulados , bonitos detalhes da muralha no primeiro plano , boa profundidade de foto,parabéns!!

Hello Felipe,

the view of this village is really fine and deserving, but there is something in the colours that doesn't convince me. Maybe it's my monitor but I see too much saturation and perhaps, due to the strong light, you used the highlights/shadows tool to reduce highlights. The result is not satisfying.

nice presentation of this sight with great point of view. The walls are nice to see with all the houses and the greeneries. A bit over saturated colours through PP. But others are O.k. DOF is very good. Brilliant contrast with the sky. A very well composed capture. Tfs.

Hi Filipe,
a nice panoramic shot of Marvão with the hill to dominates the whole area.I don't know about the World Heritage candidate but the colours and especially the blue and the green are oversaturate.As i read your answer PixelTerror you must calibrate the colours of your screen.

Hello Filipe, i think you choose de perfect POV to catch this wonderful place. Personaly i found the sturation a bit to much. But that's a question of personal taste.
I hope this place would get the World Heritage status because it is wonderful.

Dando largas à minha má-língua alentejana, por este andar há-de continuar a ser só candidata por muitos e muitos anos. Dizem as (outras :) más-línguas que o dossier de candidatura foi considerado muito mauzinho. Mas não me parece que Marvão precise da classificação. Escolheste muito bem o enquadramento, com a muralha do castelo em 1º plano e a parte visível da vila dando a ideia clara de como está empoleirada no cimo do morro. Acho que exageraste na saturação e no balanço de cores - as paredes da igreja estão meio azuladas meio-esverdeadas e no geral está um bocado para o escuro.

You really have a nice gallery with bold and vibrant colors. It was a bit difficult the select one of your photographs, in the end I clicked this one. You have selected an excellent view point to frame the picture. The color hues are very bold and well saturated, however what borders me a bit is the blueish tint which most probably was produced by the extraordinary light you had. So far I had this phenomena very seldom, despite being since more then 40 years in photography. What so ever you photograph is very impressive. Well done
