Photographer’s Note

Santuario Mariano de Fatima. Fatima is one of the most significant sanctuaries in the world dedicated to the worship of the Virgin Mary. At the Shrine site, a new, monumental Basilica is being built to compliment the one that was consecrated in 1953. The one side of the huge Shrine area is the Capelinha das Aparicoes (Chapel of the Apparitions), which houses a statue of Nossa Senhora do Rosario de Fatima, and is the most important place of worship in the Shrine. Fatima’s world fame has increased greatly under Pope John Paul II who is a devotee of Our Lady of Fatima and has visited the Shrine on three occasions.

Hello Mikolaj,

I see you are posting your older images lately. The scanning took some quality from this image and yet it still look good. The yellow tinge is excellent to age the scene a bit. Nice place.

A good capture of the sanctuary under a pleasing warm light. I like the presence of the lady coming in from the left; she contributes to the mood and gives a good sense of scale.

Fajne ujecie, widac ten ogromny plac, kosciol w oddali i pielgrzyma (pielgrzymke?) na pierwszym planie. Poza tym fajne chmurki masz na niebie. Moze sie podobac takze kolor.

Ton cliché me rappelle mon passage dans ce lieu l'été dernier. Le scan est d'assez bonne qualité mais les couleurs se sont un peu dégradées.

Czolem Mikolaj!
Ze sie tak wyraze, nie taki diabel straszny jak go maluja. Slynna bazylika jak z klockow lego. Dobre kolory. Skan calkiem dobrej jakosci. Sam walcze ze skanami, wiec cos o tym wiem, ze lekko i latwo nie jest.

No coz, jak mowia: ludzie za pieniedze sie podla, ksieza za pieniadze sie modla. I tak interes sie kreci. Nie biora mnie takie miejsca, wole skromniejsze koscioly. Ale musze przyznac, ze panoramka jest w porzo.

Masz w kolekcji duzo piekniejsze koscioly niz ten, ale coz Fatima to Fatima, legendarne miejsce. Mnie ta fotka w sumie sie podoba, a to za sprawa ladnych chmurek.

Witaj, archiwalne zdjecie, więc jest jakie jest. Kolorki troche niedzisiejsze. kadr raczej pustawy. Oj, Fatima tak mi sie nie podobała, a byłam tam za długo, zżnawet nie miałam ochoty na robienie zdjęć (!). Choć może te części ciała z wosku, zwłaszcza wewnetrzne byłoby zabawnie zrobic.

Witaj Mikolaju,
Czasami niebo potrafi zrobic niesamowita niespodzianke w postaci fikusnych chmurek. Tak bylo w przypadku tego zdjecia. Te puszyste poduchy w bardzo ladny sposob wypelnily zdjecie, dlatego nie dziwie sie skad taka ciekawa kompozycja.

this tone of colors is very nostalgic for my eyes too,
this blue sky and flowing cloud are like in the dream, and the yellowish buildings look illusionary.
anyway, people's worship of the Virgin Mary is felt beyond this appearance in your shot.
