Photographer’s Note

Church of St. John The Baptist (Sao Joao Baptista) in the city of Tomar, the Republica Square. The main church of Tomar is located in the main square of the town, in front of the Municipality (XVII century) and a modern statue of Gualdim Pais. The church was built between the XV and XVI centuries and has many interesting artistic details, like the flamboyant Gothic portal, the Manueline tower with a XVI century clock, the decorated capitals of the inner columns of the nave and several panels painted in the 1530s by one of Portugal's best Renaissance artists, Gregório Lopes.

I like the graphic chequerboard pattern of the piazza. A superb pov with excellent colour, linear perspective, sharpness & lighting. Well done!

Encore une belle et bonne image du Portugal. L'édifice religieux a une architecture remarquable. Le parvis en damier crée une grande PDC et une belle perspective.

Un beau carrelage typique du portugal avec en toile de fond cette église intéressante avec sur le côté la tour de l'horloge.

Ladne czyste swiatelko i przesliczne pastelowe kolorki, ujecie pierwsza klasa, lawka, pomnik, kosciol, bardzo zreszta ciekawy, jakby sie skladal z dwu czesci, z dwu budowli. Dobry skan, dobra ostrosc.

Good use of the vertical for this nicely balanced composition. The patterned tiles make an interesting and useful lead line towards the lovely church. I like the soft light and colours. Good sharpness.

Czesc Mikolaj,
jak juz wspomnialem moj plan zwiedzania Portuagalii nie jest az tak ambitny jak Twoj ale to miejsce postaram sie koniecznie odwiedzic. Widzialem kilka innych zdjec m.in. z zamkiem i szczena po prostu opada, ale najbardziej podoba mi sie wlasnie ten placyk. Ma w sobie cos ujmujacego. Jakas taka innosc oryginalnosc architektury. Niby wszystko znajome a jednak jakos nie pasuje do siebie -i wszystko wzmacnia jeszcze ta posadzka.

Juz na ktoryms z kolei zdjeciu widze bardzo ciekawe wzorki na "podlodze" Interesujaco sie zapowiada, bo jeszcze 4 tygodnie i bede zwiedzal miejsca pokazywane przez Ciebie i Jozka. Kompozycja na medal.

Ciekawa architektura, jak sie jej przyjrzec uwaznie, to poszczegolne fragmenty wygladaja, jak puzzle z roznych epok i miejsc. Ciezko jednosznacznie okreslic jej styl, dlatego wlasnie jak dla mnie bardzo interesujacy obiekt, warty zobaczenia.

Bonjour Mikolaj,
un avant plan qui atttire de suite le regard qui se perd un peu en voulant jouer avec les alignements, mais ces pavés conduisent ensuite le regard vers cette belle église bien exposée sous un ciel d'un bleu tendre,
j'aime bien ces lumières assez douces.

Hi Mikolaj.
Cette église n'est pas banale et ta photo la met bien en valeur. Le clocher à lui seul semble une architecture de valeur. La base carrée laisse la place à une construction octogonale pour se terminer par une pyramide elle même à base octogonale.
