Photographer’s Note
The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that spans the Tagus River near Lisbon. It is the longest bridge in Europe with a length of 17 km. The bridge was named after Vasco da Gama, the Portuguese explorer.
The bridge was opened to traffic in 1998, after only 18 months of construction and just before the Expo 98 World's Fair, 500 years after Vasco da Gama's discovery of the sea route from Europe to India. It was designed to live for 120 years and withstand an earthquake 4.5 times stronger than the historical 1755 Lisbon earthquake and wind speed of 250 km/h.

Respect! I really like this picture. GREAT POV! Composition in sepia is a real good idea. The sky and it's reflection in the water makes it spectacular!

Hello Alana ,
This is a beautiful take. The tones are great and the sky gives a great effect here.
The placement of the subjects, the bridges and the water in your composition are excellent.
The walk bridge, and also the Vasco Da Gama bridge lead the view into the picture deep inside.
I think the humans in the picture add flavour to the picture.
And yes, the guy lying on the floor. :)
Great shot indeed. - Vikram

That's a very nice composition Alana. The tones are great, the scales are once funny once very romantic and the parallel between the two bridges, one really alive thanks to human beings using it and the other so gigantic and without a single living elements, is a really good idea.
Nice PoV and the sharpness is very impressing.

Very nice composition, Alana, with two parallel curved perspectives working very well here. I have an impression that the image is slightly tilted to the right, but it's not a problem. Nice sepia choice (we both are in B&W mood today...;), and the people enliven the composition (especially the lying one...;)
Well done!

Hi Alana,
You have a very nice selection of images in your gallery and this one is among them.Beautifully composed with both the walkway and bridge trailing off into the distance.I like the inclusion of life in the image that added to the B&W has given a nice soft mood.Good work.

Excellent composition - the sweeping lines of the pier lead the eye in to the scene very well. Theres a great range of tones in this image; its a good black and white conversion.
Nice work.

Alana,
this is excellent photo, I like the sepia effect and the composition, the never ending road which is lost somewhere out of the photo.

Nice view and well composed. The light is very good and the sharpness is great. Some classica feeling with the two people standing in the foreground, but the little stiff feeling is broken by the man laying down stretching or what ever he's doing. I find that a little bit humoristic.
Take care,
Jessica

Hi
Amazing effect of using sepia here.
The bridge is great itself and you show it here with a nice scene in the foreground and spectacular clouds. The couple make this photo alive - whithout them the picture wouldn't be so interesting.
About another person in the photo. We'd say in Poland that he fits here like a fifth wheel in the car. For me his presence is pretty disturbing. It was just one (small) thing I didn't like, but besides that the photo is great.
Take care

Hello Alana, you have a great composition here with the bridge and the pier curving away into the distance, mirroring each other. The couple are perfectly placed in the corner and add the required human touch. The photo works well in B&W and you have processed well to bring out light and contrast excellently.

Excellent shot Alana;
The span of the bridge almost tricks the eye into believing the horizon is off- but in reality- it's correct. Nice choice for sepia. Good detail in the clouds as well..
My only question; who's the guy passed out down the pier??
Cheers,
