Avis at sight, in Yellow Photo

Photographer’s Note

Yellow Alentejo in the begining of Summer.

Similar POV as the previous post of the green Alentejo series.
This time, I didn't have the colored flowers in foreground and I didn't have the beautiful cloudy sky, as well, so this is problably not so attractive as the previous image, but I thought it would be interesting to make the comparison bettween the two seasons, which alters so much the landscape.

The water that you see is from the same dam lake of the photo of the lonely boat (Barragem do Maranhão = Maranhão Dam).

Olá Ricardo,
Las flores amarillas y la vegetación seca del verano delante del lago y con el pueblo sobre la colina, y este cielo tan limpio y azul, crean una gran composición.
Este punto de vista es muy bueno, y la forma como has hecho el encuadre me gusta.
Es una buena foto de un bonito paisaje del Alentejo.

I'm all for using foreground elements in landscape compositions, and this photo shows a quite good way of using them, Ricardo. The deep view across the reservoir, towards the village in the back, is well shown in a deep DOF, and the color palette looks pleasantly natural and authentic.

O que gosto mesmo nesta foto sãoas diferentes camadas horizontais que nos mostras (plantas em 1º plano, agua, terra e Avis e finalmente o céu). Tal como na anterior foto, gosto do POC baixo permitindo-nos ver com detalhe as plantas do 1º plano. Boa luz e cores.

Começar o verão com seca não é muito animador. Relativamente a foto, gosto do angulo que escolheste porque realça as diferentes camadas de cor.
A definição e as cores estão muito boas.

I like this one too; although there are no purple flowers on this one you have still achieved lots of depth with the foreground grasses. We can also see more of the water on this one so you must have had a higher POV. It looks a very attractive place.

Beautiful view, great sharpness also in the foreground, I like very much the grassess over the dark, and so many different levels where the eye jumps up and down.

muito bonita esta tua composição com estas plantas secas no primeiro plano ...o lago no centro e a povoção ao fundo.
O céu "limpinho" está excelente.
As cores bastante naturais...enfim está tudo muito bom.
Beijinhos e bom resto de fim de semana com muito calor...

Na realidade, a foto anterior era muito mais animadora do que esta. Acho que para este tipo de fotografia, o verde torna-as mais atractivas e bonitas. Quanto à foto em si, o primeiro plano está muito bom, emprestanto uma perspectiva excelente. Digamos que somos obrigados a dirigir o olhar do mato seco em direcção à povoação.

good portait of the city and its surrounding. You can feel the heat in this land getting dryer and dryer.

Una foto muy parecida a la anterior en lo referente a la perespectiva pero también con un encanto propio. Buen composición y ojo. Me gusta la combinación del paisaje seco y el azul brillante del agua.

A picture with three elements, foreground with much different vegetation, middle a lake or river give a lovely subdivision between under and above, also the panorama view in background make the picture very attractive.

I like the composition, specila the yellow weath contrasting witht he green and the lake The water in the background and the town in the hill give it a plus.

The lake makes a huge difference here...at first glance it appears like an 'eye' amidst all the greens & yellow. The town located on an elevation is an eyepuller straightaway. I also seem to like the two tall reeds of grass in the FG, as if framing the town in the BG...very good compo. my friend

toda vez que leio a palavra Avis me lembro do meu velho vizinho, João de Avis, pai do atual arcebispo de Brasília. Conexões mentais...
A foto está legal, aparece bem o grafismo do mato seco e podemos apreciar a colina onde a cidadezinha se encontra, pena que passei por lá às pressas. Linda a luz
