Hi my TE friends!

Today I bring to you a view which constitutes an exception in the urban plan of Sto André: this city zone doesn’t have any trees or other green elements. That’s why I choose the B&W version to offer to you.
On the left, you can see the city library, followed by some shops and habitational buildings.

Sto André ( with the complete name of Vila Nova de Sto Andre), it’s a small portuguese young city located in the Alentejo province coast, 160km far from Lisboa, which gives home to the refineries workers located in Sines (another city 15km far from Sto André).
This small town it is a sigle case of a root built town, in Portugal, and it was built in the seventy’s decade.
Everyday a bus from the refineries gave several turns over the city to catch or leave workers.

In WS, I left the color version of this photo and I wait for your opinions and suggestions.

I hope you like it!

Hello Rosa,
I like your point of view, giving dynamic lines to the composition!
Good perspective and fine details in the architecture..
Cannot see any WS so far, maybe later!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Rosa.

Try to take the picture with people. They give a "extra-point" in the picture.

Anyway, I like the "hard" sense that it gives to us.

Rgs, Oscar

Bonjour Rosa,
Best regards.
Daniel.

Hello Rosa
Superb perspective yet again! This is quickly becoming your signature. I think all elements are well placed in the composition, you've chosen a good POV. I like both versions of the shot, but perhaps have a preference for the colour since the blue and yellow go well together.
Best wishes
Mark

Hola Rosa

Saludos y sigue presentando tus fotos.

Hi Rosa,
The B&S motif well suits this urban scene, which is well rendered in the large format. The POV is well chosen and there is good depth, with the eye following the walkway well into the frame. The lamp posts provide good symmetry and enhancement. The WS coloured version is surprising because the colour combinations on the building simply do not work for me at all - your B&W version far better compliments the architecture and decor. All the best.
John

Hi Rosa,
...'doesn’t have any trees or other green elements ..it is almost incredible!. Good idee for B&W and good point of view.
good shot Rosa,
Well done, Ambraço,
Patrick

Hi Rosa,
Good B&W quality with nice sharpness, it doesnt look like a very busy place! Not an easy subject but technically fine work
I maybe would have cropped a little of the right side where there is a bit of building , but no big problem!
All the best
LAurent

Greetings Rosa.
This shot is very creative. Alot of people go for a lush feeling in their pictures, if you understnad my meaning. They want it to be personal, have alot of emotional attachment. Here we see a very spare atmosphere, a scene I imagine could come from out of "A Brave New World". Your perspective is really good, a nice diagonal running down to the right of the shot. It's urban and desolate...great lonley feeling when looking at this photograph. I enjoy the colors in the work shop. the yellow is a nice standout against the blue sky. I think the sky lent itself more to the color version..but, i don't know...The solid blocks of tone in the B&W are growing on me by the second. I think you have done a very fine job...it's got me thinking!

Best regards,
Chris.

Hi Rosa
This is an impressive black and white shot. The exposure is very good and the composition emphasizes the graphic architecture well. The lack of human interest delivers an eerie feeling to the shot, which I like, as it is a touch mysterious. Good work.

my overall evaluation -> ***

Saludos.

The B&W fits well the essential lines of these buildings, the POV is, once again, well chosen, nice work Rosa, BRAVA!!

ciao,
Fabio.

Beijinhos,
Ricardo

Ola Rosa

Wonderful tonal range, with good use of diminishing linear perspective. Parabens & obrigado!

Olá Rosa,
Prefiro esta versão a preto e branco. Excelente perspectiva e bom POV. Como nas anteriores uma boa nota.
Bjs e boas fotos,
Aires

Hi Rosa,
Nice clean rendition in b&w. The lines are quite appealing, and texture and sharpness are good. Regards. Danilo

Hi Rosa, how beautiful your picture is. Great choice of Black and White. A very classic look of the picture. Good work. Greeting from Texas. Sothy

I couldnt decide if this one looks better than the original version. actually without colors you have done better because there s no one out there and quieteness and calm view matches with your color preference

Ola Rosa!

Excellent week end
Denise

Olá Rosa,
even colored is this place "unbeautiful". Well done in b&w.
Your composition and POV is good, but that doesn't help. Not against your photo, against what I see.
It was a german caricaturist who said more than 100 years before, that you can kill a human with a place to live.
I don't want to live there. TFS
Regards Ulf

Hi Rosa. I prefer the color version of this picture< I'm not much of a B&W person, but this version is also great because it shows very good details. The lamp on the foreground is not distracting a bit for me and the whole compo leads my eyes from left to right easily. Good capture and excellent point of view. Cheers :-)

Roberto

Ola Rosa

Hello Rosa,
well captured shot in diagonal perspective and with good contrast. The b/w version is really appropriate to this sad part of the city where the people is living without any vegetation outside.
Tfs and best regards!

Cumprimentos

Hi Rosa,
I like this BW shot with good composition and POV. The geometrical figure all over the frame give some power to this shot.

Hi Rosa,

A judicious treatment for this photograph, I like very much the result. It is very graphic and pleasant with the eye. In addition this deserted place reinforces impact of this photograph. Beautiful management of the lights also. A beautiful composition, cheer.

Best regards,

Jean-Charles
