Photographer’s Note

Pico Ruivo with 1862 metters high is the thirdest tall mountain in Portugal and is located in the Madeira Island.
There are 2 ways up there and both on foot, one is from Achada do Teixeira (2.8km) and the harder one from Pico do Areeiro (5.2 or 7km).
This day i tooked the short way and had to cross the clouds to get there, i was affraid of the lack of visibility up there... but it turned great when being above the white clouds :)
There are some vegetation at the top with twisted branches due to the wind blowing direction.
At the left you can see a little of the balcony fence located at the top for sightseeing safety.

Hi Daniel,
On the miniature, I thought that it was about snow.
With this sea of clouds, the image takes all its scale.
A diagonal hyper dynamic, and magnificent colors.

Olá Daniel,
Apesar da altitude não ser assim tão impressionante para uma montanha, o certo é que a sensação de ser uma vista do topo do mundo é muito forte e para isso contribui muito a visão das nuvens a partir de cima. Até dá a sensação que as nuvens altas atrás estão à mesma altura do PdV! A encosta na diagonal, as formas distorcidas da árvore e a aridez do sol dão imenso dramatismo e dinamismo. Belas cores e nitidez!

Great colors and saturation, very good POV and compo. I just would erase the fence on the top, why? maybe because it disturbs in a perfect nature elements composition.
