Blue at Schist Photo

Photographer’s Note

The typical houses of Piódão are made with schist walls, the doors and windows were painted in blue.
Nowadays the blue painted wood is being substituted by aluminium and pvc doors and windows but the blue color still is the one used.
I just couldn´t realize what is the meaning of the crosses present at the top of must doors, being made of wood and in many quantities...
Some people often "acuse" my photos of being a little dark... i don´t know if its my eyes, but i think it must be, because i allways use darkglasses when at the street and maybe i am a little light sensitive...
So this one i think its a just little too bright for my likes... what do you think of it?

It's just perfect :) Not too bright... Nice capture, composed very well. I like those old stone houses, even the moss at the stairs. I'm not sure about the crosses either, in Serbian villages houses also have windows like these..Maybe it used to be a fashion some time ago :) but I believe there's a practical reason for that.

Hi Daniel, wonderfull photo, and the crosses are normally a "protection" agains thunderstorms, invoquing Saint Barbara... :S

At least that's what people say!...

Muito boa Daniel. E está com uma boa luz para os meus olhos. Nem escura nem clara de mais. Aqueles raios a tocar no musgo do degrau e corrimão faz um efeito fantástico. É um daqueles sítios lindos que tenho mesmo que visitar um dia...A igreja da tua anterior é fabulosa. Aquela caixinha branca por cima do corrimão é que chateia um pouco...

Just let me first answer your question: even though I don't
really understand how you can be taking photos wearing sunglases,
this shouldn't pose a problem once you come home (as I
hope you take these glasses off once you start editing
your photos, no?
I have no problems with brightness of this photo, yet
would like to see more areas being sunlit - not just the
top of the steps.
The rest is more or less fine, and I really do like the
way you composed this one!

olá,
o piodão tem casas muito bonitas como esta que nos mostra. as cores são muito bonitas com os azuis fortes a contrastar no castanho do xisto.
