Photographer’s Note

All Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter( Paste in Romanian) according to the Easter date in the Julian calendar. This is the most important event in the church calendar.It is estimated that there are more than 250 million Orthodox Christians in the world
Many Orthodox Christians attend church services during the Holy Week that leads up to Easter Sunday.
The Easter Sunday church service is joyous as it celebrates Jesus Christ’s resurrection, as told in the Christian bible.
Visiting Oradea,together with two great friends, Lucian and Liviu, I found a church( I am sure it wasnt an Orthodox one,but this is not important).In front of that church I observed this statue and I liked

Easter fills us with hope,holly light, joy and warmth.

Nice effective capture. The vertical lines could do with some distortion correction (but I don't have the software to do it unfortunately), but other than that the graphic lines of the building complement the statue nicely. The hood casts a bit too-dark shade on her face, but it doesn't matter too much. I particularly love the shadow of the cross falling on the wall behind the statue.

Hi Isabela,

i wish you happy eastern too altough it already passed in our calendar. The use of b&w is the right choice of this scene and the shadow of the cross on the wall gives the right background to the meaning of the composition.

This imitation of the famous sculpture of Miguel Angelo is very well done and it makes me very impressed since I was a child . I remember that I was looking at a picture of it and I thought that a mother surely suffered very much having the son dead in her arms.I loved your picture.

Ce bafta de lumina buna ai avut ;-). Umbra crucii da "viata" acestei fotografii si am senzatia ca este ireala in acest context. Felicitari si SARBATORI FERICITE !!!

Adevarul e ca am avut parte de vreme buna...poate prea buna...adica prea cald...pentru unii :-PPP
Ai profitat de lumina soarelui...ma refer la umbra crucii.

O seara placuta si PASTE FERICIT!

PS:asupra locatiei ar fi trebuit Liviu sa intervina ;-),e un ghid excelent pentru un tur al orasului,dar deoarece el nu mai este activ pe TE...trebuie sa fiu eu acela.....aceasta statuie e amplasata in curtea bisericii romano-catolice Olosig.

ce bun ar fi fost carnetelul :-P
