Photographer’s Note

This photo has been shooted in San Marino a cloudy day. This is the central road that passes under the historical center of San Marino which is at the left behind the walls.

The original photo was colored but i choose to make it Black & White, because of the whole atmosphere.

I have desaturated it, i did the auto-level and auto-contrast from PS and i have made it more sharp.

Nice shot Ilia!
The road "travels" the eye to the background of the image.
I agree with you that B&W is better for this image.

You found a quiet day in San Marino! It's very busy with tourists in the summer. While I don't remember it exactly as your picture shows it, I feel this more accurate than my memory showing an everyday (off season) scene up on the mountain.

i like this in black and white. nice tones. i think it's a little too centered, though, and i would crop out some of the wall on the left, although it is interesting.
