The Clouds blowing Castle Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a view showing the Guaita castle in San Marino overlooking the Rimini area in Italy far below, reaching as far as the Adriatic sea you can see in the background. I was blessed with superb clouds on that day and tried some variations on them, on this one it seems the castle is blowing them in the air.

The people having established the community now known as "Serenissima Repubblica de San Marino", the 3rd smallest country in Europe after the Vatican and Monaco, began to build fortifications on the Monte Titano as early as the X th century and the Guaita Fortress you see here is the most ancient dating from the XI th century. It is part of a network of three castles (Guaita, Cesta, Montale) that was all in place in the XIII th century. Interestingly the administrative division in San Marino is called a "Castello".

La succession de petit nuage est superbe, tout ce château qui trone au sommet de la falaise.

Une photo absolument remarquable de qualité. Tout d'abord le cadrage avec ce donjon sur un promontoire disposé suivant la règle des tiers. Quoique il subsiste une brume visible à l'horizon, le ciel est parfait. Un petit coup de pola ?

Nice photo, Jean-Yves. Good use of the castle as a foreground interest, and as a device to open up the deep view across the gentle landscape. The puffy clouds are very nice indeed. I suggest you have a poster-size print made of this one, and decorate one of your walls at home with it.

Une netteté et un rendu des couleurs excellents. Les nuages habillent bien le ciel (sans eux, le cliché aurait perdu de son attrait).

Je préfére cette vue à la précédente du même site ! Elle donne un aspect encore plus grandiose à ce splendide panorama ! On se rend bien compte de la position dominante de cette superbe forteresse qui à littéralement la tête dans les nuages ! Le ciel n'est, quant à lui, pas en reste !
Une très belle image pleine de profondeur !

Perfect postcard! The positioning of the castle is just right, jutting up into the sky, and with the whole plains around visible below. It really gives the impression of being in a dominating position. The sky is great too, with those clouds balancing the castle well. Excellent!

This is a remarkable photo the DOF and sharpness are outstanding. The landscape is great with fantastic cloud patterns. The lighting and colors are very strong and well saturated. The placement of the castle in the frame is perfect allowing us to see the expanse that it overlooks.

Tu as raison de le mentionner, tu as été béni par une colonie de nuages en vacances sur la côte Adriatique; c’est plutôt joli.

Un papa ne doit jamais faire de comparaison entre ses enfants, mais moi je peux en faire une; je préfère cette photo à la précédente du même endroit, sans doute à cause du point de vue plus global, de cette falaise qui est la pièce maîtresse de ta composition et du coup d’oeil exceptionnel sur Rimini et sa région.

C'est une pure merveille celle ci JY, quelle classe, une "easy life Tan" (capthaddock) tout est bon ici, le POV est incroyable et tu avais une visibilté parfaite, le ciel est top et techniquement pas d'erreur.
ahhhh ça fait plaisir de voir des photos comme ça, c'est un vrai bijou.
Quand les éléments météorologiques sont de la parti c'est du pain béni pour les photographes que nous sommes, encore plus particulièrement pour les photos de paysages.
Un grand bravo, c'est de la classe mondiale

belle image qui dément l'idée reçue chez les jeunes générations que Rimini c'est plage, sortir en boîte et sortir en boîte...

J'aime beaucoup le PDV que tu as choisi.. d'une part avec ce château qui domine toute la vallée et justement cette plaine qui s'étend inlassablement à ses pieds.. Magnifique ! Ca me rappelle aussi la Toscane et ses merveilleuses collines !

Sympa aussi les nuages dans le ciel qui semblent s'être posés tout doucement sur ce paysage enchanteur. Bon week-end
