Photographer’s Note

I certainly have used the title of this ever favorite song a few times already, but couldn't figure out a better one for this photo showing the way up to the Guaita castle, one in a network of three medieval castles defending San Marino.

Un tout bon pov qui met ce bel édifice en évidence et donne aussi une vue panoramique sur la région.
De très jolies couleurs et un superbe ciel sous une lumière très agréable.

bien vu le cadrage qui laisse un poil voir la vallée en bas et qui donne encore plus de hauteur a ce chateau ou le regard est bien guidé par le chemin qui ressemble a une mini muraille de chine, ciel bien saturé

this seems an interesting place to visit...Very beautiful castle floatin above the clouds~ Perhaps nicer if the bushes on the right are not blocking the view, which would certainly add more depth to the pic. but then the colours and light makes up for it

Excellent point de vue pour nous faire gravir les dernieres marche avant la paradis ! Le panorama doit être grandiose de là-haut !
Un ciel superbe recouvre la scène ! Il me semble qu'il y a un tilt sur l'horizon !

The upstairs path makes looks superb. A bit of curves and stairs upper there. Strong perspective.
Very mediaval look. This would look great also on bad weather, like directly from some tale with witches and dragons.

Your composition is great using the walkway to lead the eye up to the castle. The lighting and colors are great as is your sharpness and detail. The deep blue sky forms a great backdrop for the light colored castle.

le cadrage sur l'escalier ,tout en laissant voir la vallée,est vraiment excellent!On se rend compte ainsi de la hauteur de cet endroit,et du point de vue magnifique qu'on doit avoir de la haut.La couleur gris pâle de la pierre forme un merveilleux contraste avec le ciel bleu.Le vert de l'arbre de droite vient agrémenter ces belles couleurs.Superbe!

This looks more like a fanatasy place than a real one, with the impressive castle and the amazing walkway snaking it's way up to it. The sky is such a perfect blue that it makes a great contrast with the white or light coloured stone. Excellent!

Hey JY. I was thinking I have seen that title before. I guess if there was a church on the top then it would be a true stairway to heaven! :) The polarizer is well behaved with the wide-angle lens with just some small areas of the sky getting different levels of polarization. The shooting angle gets your attention. Good one JY!

your San Marino shots are all very good and I like this especially with the wide angle effect and leading the stairs up to the castle, although the tilted horizon seems almost to much. Isn't there the possibility of correction it with PP?

Tout ce qui fait la force de tes photos : cadrage impeccable, beauté du ciel et des couleurs, superbe profondeur de champ....pour résumer superbe qualité! Le grand angle utilisé semble en effet avoir tilté l'horizon.

I allmost feel dizzy by just looking at your image. it has a high up expression. Yes it's a stairway to heaven but i'm pretty sure It's long way to hell if you falling of the track :-)
Here I like the vindling track and the facts that the clouds are below the main POV.
the sky is nicely deep.

C'est sûr que tel site mérite le détour et tous les clichés. Cette vue rapprochée du château et du chemin qui y conduit complète judicieusement celle du "Guaita Castle" pour nous donner une excellente idée de cette architecture.
J'apprécie la belle couleur de la pierre sous cette luminosité méridionale.

Bonjour, Jean-Yves. Un tire bien choisi qui colle parfaitement bien à la photo. L'allée tortueuse qui mène vers le château nous introduit très bien dans la photo. Le contraste entre les pierres et le ciel est bien marqué. J'aime aussi beaucoup l'ouverture vers la droite sur la plaine émilienne.

Very nice shot! The place this castle is build is really spectacular. I like especially the POV here, which stresses the unique form of this narrow stone road. Colours and lighting look also great.

I have to give you props for the Zeppelin reference! The trail has a nice zig zag through the scene and the greens are so rich as are the blues. Very well done. By the way are the highest ranked photographer on TE? I've never seen anyone with over 50,000 points!

Belle vue montante vers le chateau, le tout contre un ciel bien saturé.
J'imagine que cette vue doit souvent être prise en photo, l'angle du soleil est la bonne de toute façon, j'imagine que tu as attendu que Galarneau veuille bien prendre sa place.

the point you chose for shooting was a very good one. I like the deep blue of the sky and the perspective. I think that you had to use a tripod.
