Photographer's Note

In the garden of the Bratislava Castle (Pozsonyi vár) stands this statue. The sculpture is the work of Italian sculptor, Norber Sadel, and was erected in 2000.
The statue depicts the legend that when St. Elizabeth of Hungary was helping the poor with food, the food miraculously appeared as roses to those who disapproved her action. Plaques associated with the statue give a short description of St Elizabeth in 4 languages: Slovak, English, Hungarian and German. Close-up views of these plaques are shown in the Workshop.
