Photographer’s Note

At the photo is a reflection and sunset (Sunny lakes of Senec)

" The town Senec in the south-west of Slovakia (25 km away from Bratislava) is a known and popular destination of summer holidaymakers above all due to its stable weather and lakes Slnečné jazerá (Sun Lakes) that stretch on an area of 120 hectares.
The name of lakes confirms the fact that Senec enjoys in average more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, which makes it the ”sunniest” town of Slovakia. Apart from bathing and water sport, the recreation area offers excellent accommodation at different levels, camping sites and sport facilities including volleyball, mini golf, giant chess grounds and toboggans. The local tennis hall for instance, is also attractive for fans of this sport. Fishing is also possible here.
The modern, recently installed attraction is the tourist compound Aquathermal opened in 2004 which makes use of the local hot springs. It offers hot water in nine swimming pools of different sizes during the whole year.
The lakes are an ideal place for family holiday. Shores of the lake are covered by grass and the mean summer temperature of water is 25 °C. The offer of accommodation is wide and varied starting by hotels, big cottages owned by firms and ending by caravan sites and camping in tents "
