‘Ptuj - Roofs and chimney with roof’

This is my second picture of Ptuj, a town in Eastern Slovenia.

When you visit the castle (Grad Ptuj) on the highest point of the town you will be rewarded with many nice views over the town itself, the river, the fields at the other side of the river and the mountains to the horizon.

Hereby I wanted to show you a view over the roofs of the old town and you will notice that even some chimneys do have their own traditional roof.

Bonjour Paul

J'aime toujours ces vues sur les toits, qui révèlent un autre côté d'une ville et nous les font connaître différemment.
L'impact graphique est très fort dans cette image. L'enchevêtrement des toits, l'impressionnante cheminée idéalement placée... tout fonctionne très bien, et la saturation des couleurs est bien dosée pour une vignette attrayante.
Point de vue original, bravo.

Hi Paul, this really is a unique and excellent photo. I love the textures of the tiles and the cracked rendering. The large chimney in the FG is the highlight and your DOF just superb. Goede aandacht voor deze schouw met de speciale hoed midden in een zee van rode daken. Het pleintje met de gele kerkgevel zorgt v oor een fijn contrast.

a picturesque shot of roofs, especially wonder chimney with amazing roof.
its broken figure is very interesting and artistic to my eyes.
like a watching tower in old tales...
I like pictures of roofs so much, and this geometric composition and red colors are my favorite.
center yellow wall is good accent.

Looks like that chimney will not be standing for ever! I guess it was a good idea of taking the shot before...
It is a nice picture were the yellow building (church?) stands out from the red roofs.

It is a pleasing sight looking out over rooftops. Then you span the view with the camera to get the framing right. It looks like you have zoomed in here and the framing works very well. I particularly like the yellow building, with all the terracotta roofs surrounding it.

Hi Paul,
Beautiful pattern filled with a tapestry of a lot of bright red roofs. A sense of turning around the chimney brings a nice rhythm to the image. Exposure for bright summer light is also so nice.

Dag Paul,

Bij het eerste zicht deed het mij denken aan de Hollandse schilder Anton Pick, die zo mooi de sprookjes huizen kon schilderen.
Het is bijna ook een sprookje wat we hier tezien krijgen.
De samenstelling is zeer good, de vele daken zorgenn voor spectaculair beeld.

This composition is a good exercise to obtain a strong graphism, because of the effect of this chimney with roof that is outlined on a landscape of roofs with a splendid geometry.
The light and the pink tones are magnificent and work very well in the image.

Delightful roof structure with the tiles on the chimney. Like this collage with the red of the tiles dominating and the whole scene looks like a jigsaw thanks to your high POV. Like the pastel yellow on the wall of the house as well, adds a dash of another colour. Well composed and framed
