Bled in sunset Photo

Photographer’s Note

Shot only moments before my last photo. You can see Bled island, with it`s church in the background. - as much as I could lit it up, without making the background portion of the photo too grainy.

I just caught the two ducklings before they escaped my sight. They may seem sluggish and slow in a photo, but they sail like speed boats, when they feel like it.

So that`s that - thanks for looking.

Hello Miha,

This is wonderful, especially with impressive lights on lake surface. I liked divided lake surface with lights and your excellent timing adding to ducks to your well taken photo while they are giving life to your frame. The famous view of church and texture of Bled island is very nice under latest lights of day. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.

Dragi Miha,

uživao sam nekoliko trenutaka u ovom divnom prizoru. Privilegija je svakome da se tu zadesi, pogotovu da napravi snimak za sećanje.

Pročitao sam pažljivo tvoju poruku u Introu i sasvim se slažem i razumem da težiš većem kreativnom izazovu. Uz ogradu da ne treba da se takmičiš sa drugima nego samo sa sobom. Barem ja imam takav pristup; od drugih učim a sebe kritikujem i volim.

Sve pohvale za ovaj romantični pogled na Bled.

Haha, I know what you mean, when you adjust the camera settings and get a focus point, the ducks could be gone!

So I think you have fast hands and mind! The ambient light is just sufficient to bring detail of the church on the island but the rippling reflection on the water is a good mood for the sunset which you allowed a narrow strip of the sky. Dark yet still visible :)

sm prebrala tvoj novi intro in morm rečt da te zlo razumem. Na eni točki ma človk vsega kar je počel do sedaj dost. Sicer imam jst trenutno en drug problemčič....enostavno sm nekje na poti izgubila filling kaj je dobr in kaj ne glede svojih slik. To da mi nobena ni všeč pa itak...
No pa nism zato tu da ti jamram o sebi tamveč da pozdravljam tvojo odločitev. In zadnja dva prispevka, ki zelo očitno kažeta odklon od dosedanje prakse. Tale zadnja mi je še posebej blizu, ker je skomponirana s svetlobo. Tripartitna kompozicija kjer je vmesni senčni del z blejskim otokom in cerkvico, ki deluje nadvse spokojno in omirjeno (morda celo malenkost potisnjeno v ozadje, kot bi želel reči: al hodš v cerku ali pa si zunaj nje kjer se življenje odvija :P). Dve rački sta perfekten bonus in vdihneta sliki prej omenjeno življenjskost. Vsekakor čudovita slika z Bleda, vse prej kot večina razgledniških dolgočasij. Ima svojo intimno noto, tisti trenutek samote, ko se je ozračje skoraj popolnoma umirilo in ko človek ostane sam s svojimi mislimi in tistim trapastim nasmeškom na ustnicah :))

What a peaceful and calm atmosphere in this view over the lake. The light is beautiful and it's nice to see how the church stands out against the dark background. The two ducks are a nice detail too. Well seen and captured!

Given those light conditions you could not do better to have the island clearer... but anyway the golden reflections in the water is good enough to give a fine atmosphere.
Two possible solutions or variations come to my mind:
1) Have a wider view so to have a larger part of the photogram with the golden reflection (the composition could have been more balanced)
2) To crop completely the upper part over the bell tower.
What I generally do in those cases is to take three or four shots with different focal lengh or povs and then choose the best.

Bonjour,
belle photo de ce lac avec cette partie émergée ou se dresse ce village superbe.
Ce soleil qui se couche donne ces rayons indirectes qui se reflètent sur l' eau sombre et lui donne cet effet doré magnifique.
