Photographer’s Note

Lake Bohinj (Slovene: Bohinjsko jezero) is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia.[2] Lake Bohinj is located in the Bohinj municipality in the north-west of the country, and is inside Triglav National Park.
SAYS WIKIPEDIA, BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THAT.
And it`s gotten more expensive over the years (what hasn`t).

When I stepped up to the booth, where an utterly indifferent young woman was selling tickets for a ride with a boat, she told me that it costs 10 euro both ways. I`d hate to know what one way means when going on a boat that gives you a tour and disembarks you in the same spot you embarked on. :)
But in all seriousness, I guess it leaves you on the other side of the lake, then you have to walk all the way back ... or swim.

The cable car to Vogel, overlooking Bohinj costs 13 euros both ways. Not a terrible amount, if you plan on staying up there for a couple of days. Too much is you just want the view.

It seems the only thing cheap these days is walking, so that`s exactly what we did, all around the lake. Around 10km probably. :)

This is a view at the "start" of the lake, near the church, from the bridge. Makes sense doesent it.

Superb photo Miha and it explains why you said in a critique of a photo of mine that you prefer it to the lake at Bled. My visit to Bohinj was on a wet day so it is great to see it at its best.

really a great location, and it really seems to be expensive, if you wnt to visit such beautiful places, but that´s happening meanwhile everywhere in the whole world..

Hello Miha,
This POV is a very good one to show us the complete lake with its beautiful green colours and its sport facilities.
You mention everything there has become more expensive. I think also more touristic. I was there one month before you and was surprised about the number of visitors. Perhaps this was a surprise to me because in guide books Lake Bohinj is always compared with Lake Bled and described as the quite lake and the lesser known one ...

Very good composition of this remarkable lake and surrounding mountains. The kayak pointing in diagonal makes the image very dynamic and it's a fine focal point. Superb colours and transparency of the water. A place were I'd like to spend a holiday.

Hello Miha,

A superb "lakescape" with a great depht and a superb prospect. Good balalnce in the composition and nice colors (especially the green of the water). The man with its canoe give an interesting element of life and an idea of the scale. good work.

Slovenia is a Country that we, here in Brazil, rarely put in our list of possible traveling places... well, by your pictures, we shouldn't do that!

Zdravo Miha. As the photo unfurled from the top to the bottom I was pleased by what I saw and then to top it off, I saw the nicely positioned kayak in the left corner.The ripples are exceptionally clear and the colours are just beautiful.
