Photographer’s Note

EDIT:// This is a repost of one of my earlier photos. I wasn't quite happy with the original version I had for a number of reasons and have also incorporated many suggestions I had received on it. Mostly, I tried to remove the noise and to make the colours a bit more natural looking (they seemed too vibrant for me and the foreground was distracting from the lake). I also increased the size. Hope this is better. I also posted a black and white version as a workshop, which is actually my favourite version I think.

The view of Bled from Mala Osojnica on a beautiful (and hot!) early spring day.

Bled is obviously gorgeous and over-photographed, but there was something interesting about the lookout at Mala Osojnica. While I was in Bled, there were hundreds of people (if not more) swarming the shores of the lake so that it was even sometimes hard to walk due to crowds. However, it only takes a 20-30 minute hike (and maybe 2 minute climb/crawl at the very end) up the path from the main road and you will encounter this view - however, out of all the hundreds maybe thousands of tourists, I only met myself and two others climbing to the viewpoint!?!

I have yet to understand why nobody else seemed interested in hiking to the viewpoint, but I am not complaining! A great way to enjoy one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia (if not Europe) in relative solitude.
