Photographer’s Note
Second photo: across the field, an intersection, not too late to change your mind; through the forest, you cannot see; a shining mountain, a distant vision, a far-off goal; will you take this path?
Actually, this is my favourite photo of mine. I know it's not perfect in it's technical details (then again, what photo of mine is?), but it makes me think twice about my plans for life.
-----
This is part of a four-photo series about Crngrob ("Black Grave"), a small village in the Upper Carniolan countryside with a population of 33. More specifically, I should say a four-photo series about the dirt path leading from Škofja Loka to Crngrob. The path is not particularly long and not breathtakingly spectacular, but it was beautiful that one spring day in its subtleties: the texture of the spring mud, the gentle bends through forests and fields, the overwhelming smell of wildflowers in the wooded grove, the Alps off in the distance... Slovenia has enough massive dramatic breathtaking sites to make any tourist's head spin (I think I stumbled around in a state of shock for a couple hours after the Škocjan Caves haha; not mentally prepared for something that unreal), so it was nice to take a day off to just relax, breathe, have a picnic and appreciate Slovenia's finer details.

The choice of BW was terrfic, although it's tilting a bit to the right it's still worth seeing,

Jordan,
Yes, it is a nice photo - with somewhat timeless atmosphre - although I must admit that, first off, I wondered if you'd discovered the world largest land art swastika!
Another fine note to compliment the imagery - it's appreciated!
Cheers

Very beautiful and attractive picture!
Vertical format, black and white and pov were very well chosen!
Sharpness, exposure, depth of field and composition are very good! I really like it!

Hi, Jordan,
I'm a total sucker for the path leading into the frame. (Looking back at my gallery, I'm surprised I haven't posted any of those types of images yet from my own collection.)
Anyway, this is an excellent realization of the genre. I especially like the gentle regular ess-shape curve of the main path which leads us to the forest just below the very impressive mountain. I also like the fine detail in the foreground (the tire track, e.g.). The bright white of the path against the darker soil provides a nice parallel to the light and dark in the distant snow-capped mountain.
I don't imagine I would have used B/W for the shot, but your choice works well.
Regards,
- William

Hello Jordan,
A view with a certain melancholy reinforced by the chocie of soft grey colours. The winding road leads the eye to the far. But indeed, an intersection and choices to be made lure ahead...

Paul

Hi Jordan, very nice composition in B&W. The contrast range looks well also. Did you really mention 33 people? :) Have a good weekend, Alex
